Luv2play Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 (edited) The NYT today reported that the drug firm Gilead, one of the two giants in HIV treatment drugs, is being sued for delaying bringing to market improvements to its tenovir based drugs Truvada and Descovy for profit based considerations relating to patent protection. If true, they could be liable for billions in damages caused by their earlier form of the medication to kidneys and bones. This could be a replay, with variations, of the Purdue case relating to opioides about what a drug company knew and when they knew it and what they disclosed to the public. It's all in the emails and memos in company files. Edited July 22, 2023 by Luv2play marylander1940 and + robear 1 1

Bone and kidney damage from Truvada are easy to spot way ahead of time, if those taking the medication are being monitored as recommended. You may be hyperbolizing a fairly minor issue here.
Luv2play Posted July 23, 2023 Author Posted July 23, 2023 Sure I may be. Let's see how the lawsuit plays out.

Of course--because jurors made up of janitors and DMV clerks are the best arbiters of scientific fact. Only the US uses lay juries in civil cases. If you like to spin fanciful tales, the US is the place to do it. I feel a song coming on...
