Tipping Etiquette @ NYC Spas

Hey everyone -

Wanted to get thoughts on what constitutes a good tip here in NYC. Recently went and had a fantastic massage from someone I found to be very attractive. There were def extras - beyond the mundane but just short of everything. The massage itself was $70 for the hour. I tipped $60 on top. Is that a good tip for that kind of attention? Never know these days but def wanna go back and do the right thing!

It seems to me that you were generous and showed your appreciation to the masseur by providing him with such a tip.  Assuming that he didn't ask you for any specific amount and was kind to you. It was recipricated by the amount of your tip.mll.

So ..I look at it this way - if you're at a massage place in NYC and only paying $ 70, the masseur is likely making very little of that 70 bucks. It's going to the rent on the space. So these guys often are working for tips.  So I figure anything beyond a very basic massage needs to be paid for separately, not just viewed as a "tip".  It your session went beyond sensual and into sexual then escort rates should be considered when tipping.

That is a reasonable tip for what you described. I usually tip the same as the cost of the massage if I left happy and didn't get short changed on time.
