OP note: Do they need to be armed? Cops should arrest and banned unruly parents for watching games.

As the sun sets on another Little League game in America, 11-year Jack Wood, whose team just lost its recent game — and its first-place position — is still glowing with pride.

Don't punish the kids, go after the parents!

There were several letters to the editor of the Wall Street Journal this week from active and retired little league umpires and coaches.

One umpire said his league instituted a new rule that any parent who harasses an umpire is banned from games for the rest of the season unless he volunteers to be trained as an umpire and umpires at least three games for the league.

One coach said he approached all the parents at the start of a game and told them that if any parent harasses an umpire or gives orders to their child on the field, then the coach would bench that player for the rest of the game.

A retired umpire said he would go back to volunteering as an umpire in a heartbeat, but only if he could be guaranteed that all children on both teams were from orphanages.

I guess parents ARE the problem in this case too!
