Hallmarks of the variant seem to be an unusual amount of pediatric cases and also significant amount of patients with conjunctivitis. It is said to be the most contagious variant yet. So far not clear how severe the cases can be. Cases are up significantly in India but it's too early to know if hospitalizations and deaths will be up as those are lagging indicators. Guest Posted April 21, 2023 Share Posted April 21, 2023 Latest data suggest the illness is no more severe, but it's more contagious and expected to overcome other omicron variants soon.
