This guy stood me up today - first time I've ever been ghosted by a provider.  Earlier in the week I set an appointment for 2PM today.  He gave me his address, but no apartment number and just said to ask the Doorman for Carmine.  Seemed like a slight red flag but I know the building and figured a doorman is a good sign. Texted him earlier today to confirm with no response - another red flag but I head to his building as agreed upon.  When I asked the doorman for Carmine she sent me straight up to his apartment after confirming my appointment time.  That made me feel slightly better for a couple of minutes until I get to his door and see five Whole Foods delivery bags sitting there unclaimed.  I rang the bell anyway - no response, no noise from inside.    I texted him a pic of his door with the bags to let him know he ghosted me but no response yet.  I've never left bad review on RM - he has 25 five-star reviews - but I feel like I should.

Update - I get a response from him over two hours later:

Hey  I’m SO sorry.  I was up editing for a project deadline until 8am - I slept thru 2 alarms.  Really really sorry. I’d like to make it up to you and offer you a make up session for $99 instead of the 200.  Please let me know when I can have you back

❤️❤️❤️

Please don’t hate me, I’m a nice guy ❤️

I told him no thanks.

No second chance because you believe his explanation/apology wasn't genuine?  Or is there another reason not to try again?

Bummer.  Just curious: had he asked you for a deposit?  Or perhaps he has moved away from that construct.

The validity of his excuse isn't important to me, I simply don't have any interest in running the risk of him wasting my time again.  There are plenty of other providers out there.

There was no discussion of a deposit.

Well.  It sounds like he was sincere    Does anyone have any actual massage experience with him  ?

Curious what his private pics look like

I do. Seen him twice and he’s amazing and has never failed me. He’s a bit pricey for me (I’m a student) but he makes my time and money worth it.

Which of his options do you choose, the "signature" or the "Intense/deep tissue"?  Can you comment on the difference?

The RMasseur reviews are VERY complimentary and enthusiastic, and he answers every one.

Professional and friendly communication with Carmine leading to confirming an appointment today at 11:30 a.m.  He then totally ghosted me this morning.  I am glad I didn't spend time to travel to his HK place!

I am guessing morning appointments are not his 'thing' ...

It is too bad because his reviews are really good.  I will stick to my regulars for now.

Sucks that he keeps wasting people's time.  Sorry that this happened to you.

I agree.  I understand that things come up, in which case he could have texted me ahead of time to say he would not be available.  Not HOURS after the scheduled appointment.

He did offer a 90 minute session at $100 to make up for the inconvenience he caused.  But I took a pass on that.
