My experience has most are in the room local to where they are. On AOL, there are two NYC "companion" rooms which are usually full. In the Philadelpia area, they hang out in the Philly M4M or Philly Burbs M4M. There is a national "companion" room, but it's rarely highly occupied and I think guys park there waiting to get into a local room.

Well, I've been on AOL chat rooms... and found it to be a complete waste of time. As an escort I receive a lot of questions from people, but nothing in terms of setting up an appointment. I don't mind answering questions, but I find that it sucks up a lot of my time.... AND, believe it or not, I used to get a LOT of people complaining that escorts were in those rooms. So, I just stopped.

For me, if people want to pick my brain for a while, I'd prefer it if clients or potential clients just IM me at my yahoo account (chriscrawfordxxx)... if I'm sitting at my computer I'd gladly spend some time.

Just this guy's opinion,

-Chris

Yeah. I had been having that problem on AOL. I made a big deal in my profile (and away messages) that people interested in hiring should email, not IM me so I can get back to them on my own time.

Essentially my IMs are off and I don't answer anyone there. Makes me seem bitchy but it's time efficient and I really don't want people too stupid to follow directions anyway ;)

What's funny is when folks IM me without even reading my profile, then they start asking questions that are answered in my AOL profile.

:-(

True but we shouldn't all suffer because of the mistakes of a few ;)

My theory is that if you chat with someone in real time in a chat room, an IM is free game. If you see them in a chatroom and their SN is shown away, READ THEIR PROFILE before initiating contact.

I think that's the most fair...

Few? Mistakes of the few? The phrase "AOL Inches" (or "Internet inches") aren't accidental. ;-)

There ARE still people who set up a hookup using pictures of (oh, just to name someone) Scott Adler and end up looking more like Chi Chi LaRue when they show up. Probably more of them than the honest ones.

I've never understood why they even try. Do they think nobody will notice in person? LOL

But it still happens. A lot.

You're a hard one to read -- one thread you're nice, the next you're a meanie ;)

That's not very nice since the one thing EVERYONE has been able to agree on is that I do this job and my hobby very well. MY pictures are accurate if not less flattering than what I look like in person.

But that wasn't what I was referring to when I discussed profiles. I was discussing directions like email for inquiries only and the like.

I send those home.

Scott,I know it will seem strained at this point-since you have been doing overtime defending your honor on this board and your schoolwork-but I think he meant that SOMEONE other than yourself might post your photo(just as an example)on their profile. And when they show up the reality does not meet the internet induced fantasy.

Happens all the time.Seems a big waste of time for all parties involved.

IMHO..I seriously doubt that the Full Timer Type of "Working Guys" could Totally depend on Biz from Chat Rooms, To either buy the New Ipod OR Pay the Rent. "Part Time" Workin Guys,Their Spare Time is probably when they even bother, to Chat. Big difference between Chatting and Doing! LOL :+

Dude, you're wound too tite. With good reason, I admit ... hasn't been a good week. But look at the bright side: you're up one stalker! :p

I used you as an example of something that happens to pretty people all the time: their pictures are used by not-so-pretty people in online ads. Nothing more.
