Guest
I’m indifferent. I’d rather be compost than pickled and laid out in my best suit
pubic_assistance
I've actually been looking forward to this. My will calls for anything usable to be cut out and donated and the rest mulched and planted with an oak tree. Cemeteries are a waste of space. I agree - as much as I like a good historic cemetery, many of them have become prohibitively expensive. When my aunt (actually a cousin of some degree) died in Vancouver a few years ago I think the family had to spend about $30,000 for the burial, including embalming, plot, and cement liner for the hole. And spaces in the mausoleum, where your casket is inserted into the wall, were something like $50,000 if I recall correctly. The idea of burial does not gross me out at all, but the idea of having to spend a good portion of the estate on a burial does make me sick to the stomach. Since I live in a less urban part of Ontario now I'm sure the burial cost would be a lot less, but I'm still specifying that I want to be cremated. My ashes can either be buried in a cemetery, scattered to the wind, dumped in the water, or kept on a shelf. I like to give people options - LOL. pubic_assistance
