Use of "Traveling Hoovillians" Forum

A sort of general question for all you escorts. Do you pay attention to the "Traveling Hoovillians" forum at all? Under what circumstances do you respond to travel plans posted there?

 

Here's why I'm asking: In the last year, I've averaged a little over one trip out of town per month. When away from home, I sometimes like to organize a little companionship on the road. Well in advance of trips, I e-mail escorts that interest me. Either I never hear back or get a response after my trip. Have had equally dismal luck calling people either in advance or during my time there. Usually I get the "call me when you're in town" line and then can't reach the escort when I'm there. :-(

 

So, I like the idea of the Traveling Hoovillians message area, as it should give escorts and clients an easier way to meet. But, I've yet to get a single escort response. The result is that I've kinda slowed down on hiring.

I look just to see if anyone is in the area but no one really comes to San Antonio and posts it on the Traveling section. But for the most part I don’t look at it.

I've been keeping an eye on it since becomeing active here at this site. Not many visitors to Raleigh/Durham for vacations, but we do get some business traffic. I think it's a good idea; I'll continue to keep an eye on it.

I check it once or twice a week but it seems like I am in the same boat as the others Seattle doesn't seem to be a big travel destination but I will continue to check from time to time to see if anyone is coming to these parts. I do like hooville traveling forum and am happy to see that it is being used.

Yes.

 

Obviously, some people, clients and escorts alike, post on travel plans, either for themselves or, in the case of some clients, for favored escorts. I am not certain that there is a definite connection between a great deal of hits and that much interest, however, and I think it depends on the client whether the posting will attract attention or not.

 

Everytime I travel, I definitely post. Every once in a blue moon, I look to see if anyone I know or would like to know is coming to Los Angeles. When this happens, I sometimes invite them to breakfast and, in many cases, I have met total strangers and played tour guide or, in advance of their trip, helped out with suggestions on where to stay, where to advertise, etc.

 

Excruciatingly rarely, for those of you who are that curious, has this turned into anything sexual. Often, its merely breakfast. I have also done this in other cities when I travel, which is great, because one of the biggest issues (at least for me) is some sociability when I am wondering around the nation on my own.

 

Sometimes, clients (former or current) who were not interested in hiring me (I was not their type or age range) have been kind enough to meet/greet or even more, such as Barry in Chicago being a very courteous gentlemen and picking up and dropping me off at the airport on seperate occassions over my various trips to his hometown.

 

I think it is an excellent way for us to both meet, either as members of a community, or to meet for more intimate business reasons, but not everyone is that organized or able to plan. I have often heard from prospective clients, "I am sorry I missed you on your last trip to XYZ town" only to have to say, as I did for many in Toronto, that it was highly unlikely I would ever return there, at least not as a working escort and not in 2005 or even 2006.

 

For a client such as yourself, EBG, especially being in Arizona, you may simply need to cast a wider net, be willing to be a little more spontaneous, suggest to those escorts who really appeal to you a tentative appointment and being very aggressive and assertive in following through.

I hire infrequently. Sometimes when I'm vacationing by myself in some city I enjoy having an escort with me for a few days. Even with the great resources of this site I have found it difficult to find escorts that are able to fly out and meet me for a period of a few days. It's a very time-consuming process, finding compatible escorts whose schedules will allow a few days away.

 

It was for these reasons that I suggested to HooBoy that he launch this new Forum (thanks HooBoy). Now, the next time I'm planning a trip and looking to hire, I can post my plans in "Traveling Hoovillians", and hopefully get some replies from escorts that are interested and able to meet. It kind of "pre-qualifies" them, and hopefully will make the whole process much less time-consuming and frustrating for all parties concerned.

Sometimes I think no one gets my sense of humor, but I am truly enjoying cracking myself up !!!

 

As for this forum, I always look and see when anyone is gonna be in my area. There are times when my schedule is really flexible and I would be more than happy to take some time (when I have it) to make someone's trip easier/happier.

 

I like this forum and even though it is "just" the internet, this type of forum seems to be more community building. The other threads are very informationally based, but this one fosters a sense of community by letting us know where people are and where they are going.

 

I have lived in 2 states and one country far away from NY (my native state) and know what its like to be out on your own. The net didnt exist then (it was early 90's - no net and then late 90's - didnt have a computer then), but now it seems to be the way to communicate and even keep up a bit of a community.

Since we escorts post under another section when there is escorting time available and under that section when there isn't, I had this feeling that if anyone ever did post that he was coming to Houston, I would - if time allowed - email him and get together for freebies, for lunch or whatever. G-duh. Now I realize that I should email such a person and offer my professional services? Or maybe say, I'm available professionally, but if I don't appeal to you (I am a specific type which is not to everyone's taste, but then, neither are twinks, as I am constantly reminded by Maverick), then we could get together for free? This the kind of response I was hoping for. If I'm traveling somewhere, I'd love to be in touch with someone locally. The result may be some sort of engagement, or possibly lunch, drinks or whatever. Or, perhaps a gentle steer toward some known reliable provider of professional services...

 

I was hoping more escorts would take the hint that, as a seller of professional services, it is OK to market your services. Or, perhaps make an introduction? The whole realm of possibilities is open. Help some visitor to your city find a cool club, a great restaurant or whatever.

I never thought of an escort using that forum in that way. I always considered it just a way for regular posters to meet up to put a face to the names and personalities we're used to here. My blind spot was forgetting that "regular posters" includes both clients and escorts. Now that I have thought about it that way, I guess I have no problem with it.

 

I'm uncomfortable with the idea of escorts, local or traveling to Seattle, contacting me out of the blue just because I've mentioned in passing living in the area. But if I take the concrete step of announcing my impending presence at X destination to Hooville at large, clients and escorts alike, I see no problem with a savvy escort making his presence known for business purposes through a private email. As with all escort/client contacts (communication, communication, communication!!!), he needs to be upfront about whether his is a let's meet for coffee offer, or a let's meet for more offer. Although I suppose that is getting close to the slippery solicitation slope.

 

If you're not comfortable with this, you could include the phrase "No Escort Contacts" in your post. Or flip it around to put the burden on the poster with them having to include the phrase "Escort Contacts Welcome". Maybe one of the moderators could pin that advice to the top of the forum.

Packy I think that it a great idea for escorts or clients who post in the hooville travel to post what they might be looking for. That way there isn't any confusion.

Please just be careful with the wording on a post like this, so that you don't discourage escorts who might be interested in meeting you for free. There are at least a dozen posters on here whom I would love to meet, mind to mind. And I might even ignore such a warning to get at them. But it might be nicer if I didn't have to.
