I know this has probably been asked 100 times in the past but I couldn't find the thread in my search.

I am thinking of using an agency (Premier in Philadelphia) for a couple of their hot guys. I know the agency gets a cut (about a third I think). Their rates actually seem low for the quality and I was wondering what I should tip the escort for their service, assuming they are great escorts. With independent escorts whose fees are not especially cheap I tend not to tip as I generally book for multiple hours and feel their rates should handle it. However, a few guys seem to have really low rates and for them I usually add a good tip for a great session.

Input from both escorts and clients would be appreciated.

Now I could be wrong but I don't think so, the escort gets $100.00 out of the first hour fee, $70.00 for the agency. After the first hour the escort gets it all :9 if he is worth going into the second hour.

When in doubt I whip it out :+

I always tip the escorts from Premier (assuming that it is a good experience, and I have never had a bad one there), because the rates are unusually low to begin with, so the escort's cut is relatively small compared to what he would get for performing the same service for an agency in NYC.

I will tip an agency guy because I know he's not getting the full amount. As with any tipping, the amount depends on the quality of the service. I see an independent fairly regularly, and I "tip" him with dinners and occasional gifts.

Tip the guy IF you want to and want to acknowledge great service, especially IF you want to see him again. I understand that independents often charge a bit more than agency boys, but you might be able to work that to your advantage as well.

For example, the independent charges $200. You slip him an extra $20. I think (and hope) that he might be more inclinded to want to see you again, if you're into it. And you might be able to engage a discussion about multiple sessions, with attendant discounts.

Tips are gratuities, and therefore, by definition, should be given when service is great or exceptional. Notwithstanding that MANY industries (airlines, taxis, hair professionals, etc.) expect that a tip will be paid, it is ultimately up to YOU to decide if you will and how much you will.

On another note, I think if an escort advertises that he "welcomes tips", it borders on being a bit tacky.
