CuriousByNature
Two days after after it was wrongly reported that Lewis had died, the news is now reporting that Jerry Lee Lewis passed away this morning. Strangely, two days ago his representative said he was 'alive and well' when he debunked the earlier reports of his death. + BenjaminNicholas
He was one hell of a live performer. Saw him multiple times at Gruene Hall over the years. CuriousByNature
Luv2play
I just watched a concert he gave in Toronto in 1968 in a stadium which someone posted in the NYT in the comments section of his obit. While I appreciated his singing style and thumping of the piano, his music didn't do as much for me as some of the other talents of that period. The camera panned to the audience frequently and there they were in the dazzling sunshine, thousands of pretty girls and slim young men dancing along to the music. My generation, the boomers. Today they are all old and gray or worse, gone. Sic transit gloria.
RadioRob
It feels like there has been a rather large number of celebrities to die in October… Jerry Lee Lewis, Leslie Jordan, Robbie Coltrane, Angela Lansbury, Loretta Lynn, Ash Carter ABC News is counting over 80 famous people that have died this year.
