I've noticed when I go to an escort's place for an "in" call, you usually have to ring a buzzer (at least in New York) that has a name on it. I suppose this is the escort's real name.

And conversely, when an escort comes to me for an "out" call, he has to do the same, or give a name to a doorman.

So how do escorts and clients keep their names concealed? Or do they just have to trust one another? Or maybe the name on the buzzer is not real? But the mailman and/or the landlord would object to a fake name, I imagine.

Is there some standard way to avoid this? Or doesn't it matter?

What's most important is what matters to you. If you do not want an escort to know your real name, then make sure you only go to their places or get hotel rooms for out calls.

I've never used a fake name with an escort, though I usually only give them my first name. Still, if I'm hiring in at my place (which is usually the case), they can easily see my name when they get here. I've never had any problems. Unless you're being set up by someone, it seems to me that the risk involved in having your real name known is low: What is an escort going to do? Call the police to tell them that you hired him?

It cracks me up about the length some people go to use fake names only to reveal their true name without using basic common sense. For example, I've gone to many homes and hotel rooms and found mail laying around in plain site with the client's real name. Another give away is prescription bottles in the bathroom. Once someone answered his cell phone using his real name. Not that I care but if you're going out of your way to use a fake name, do it right.

The only appropriate response from the escort in this case would be, "You're not too smart. I like that in a man."

The reason that escorts usually use a fake name is to keep the public at large from knowing their real identity. There is a lot of liability in having your real name out there, both legally and mentally. 90% of the time, if you ask for a real name after a few meetings, an escort will tell you.

As far as the name on the doorbell, in New York City, where our Supers tend to be lazy, the name is usally from about 10 tenants before.

But This Is My Real Name

1. You register in a room and then add the second name later, most hotels (but not all) will not require the second person to be presented at the front desk to register and if they do, AVOID these hotels.

2. Have your assistant clean your desk every night and put everything away. Not only would Martha Stewart call this a "good thing" but think about the fire hazzards otherwise.

3. Men's Fitness, O The Magazine, and Blue Boy do not care what name is on the label, just that the check clears.

4. As long as your name is on the inside of the mailbox (which is, in fact, all the mail person will see), the U.S. Postal Service does not care what is on your mail box.

5. Remember your doorman, and not just as Christmas/Chanukkah, but on Mondays, Tuesdays and any other times necessary so he will refer to you as "SIR" or "GOD" or whatever else may be appropriate.

RE: But This Is My Real Name

I always use my real name, but just give my first one. It seems rather silly to keep your name a secret especially if they're coming into your home and therefore know where you live, and possibly know your home phone number as well(unless you gave them a cell or hid it from their caller ID and they didn't ask for it). Anyhow, nowadays, there seems to be much less of a stigma about hiring escorts anyway. It used to be that people imagined you hired escorts because you couldn't get a date on your own. I cartainly can, but I tell friends that I hire escorts because it's convenient, and I can afford it....because it is, and I can! :)

Besides, it becomes embarrasing when you go to great lengths to keep your name a secret, only to run into an escort in public and have them use your fake name to address you, much to the confusion of people who may be with you.

In most places, including Boston, the Post Office will not deliver mail if your name does NOT appear on the mailbox.

If you have a Post Office box, this isn't a problem. If you get your mail at home and your name is on the mailbox, well, don't be surprised if you don't get your mail at home.

RE: But This Is My Real Name

I meet with an escort about a month ago whose full name, first, middle, and last, I had found by doing internet research. (I am working on a project for several years which have developed my internet skills quite well).

I wasn't absolutely positive of his last name, so was please to see I was right when I saw it above his doorbell.

There is a lot of information available about anyone to find if you know how to look.

I went for a massage recently. At a doorman building. The guy gave me his apartment # and that is all I used.

He has other trade, and lots of activity. How does the doorman respond?

Of course it is in Chelsea section of Manhattan, a gay neighborhood.:+
