Hi Guys,

I would like to know how escorts feel about having their pictures taken during a session? If it's a particularly good session, as a client I'd like to have a photo as a souvenir. But would you, as escorts, be reluctant to have your picture taken? To the other clients - has this situation arisen for you, and if so, how was it resolved? Thanks!

As a client, this situation comes up fairly frequently as I have a digital camera and a poor memory... ;-)

 

Usually, I ask the escort about photos after we've booked a firm time/place for the session but well before the session begins. I make it very clear that taking photos is not a requirement and any stipulations they may have will be honoured. I've never had an outright refusal, but several have asked that there be no face shots (not a problem, since I usually ask the escort to take 'action shots') and with the digital camera they can see exactly what was taken... Several have requested copies... ;-) (though any I send don't show my face clearly, either). Only one (now retired) had a charge for photos, but it wasn't a large amount (10-15% of the session fee) and we ended up taking about 60 shots (he was a very enthusiastic photographer...}( )

 

I doubt you'll have much of a problem with this request as long as you approach the escort openly and politely...

I also like to take a photo or two. Almost all will allow a photo with his underwear or pants on. Many are reluctant to allow a full nude, particularly if they are porn stars who are hoping to sell photo shoots to magazines, etc. The more experienced do not care, as there are already plenty of photos of the floating around. Some do ask for copies.

An escort's personal image can be a tricky ordeal~

 

I've been put in the uncomfortable situation of being asked for personal XXX pics, etc and having to 'just say no.' For me, it comes down to the fact that i work very hard to control the images (quality, subject, diversity) that are out on the internet of me.

 

Luckily, i've never come in contact with a pic out there of myself that hasn't been personally given the 'thumbs up'... Well, except for maybe one no-so-fun instance.

 

Advertising teaches you that you must always focus on showing a product in its most positive light. I've only had a couple of incidents involving people distributing images i'm not comfortable with, but in the longrun i'm hopeful they won't surface

To answer a few of your other questions first, a number of clients do request photographs; the request itself is not unusual. Some only want a snap shot type photograph, others want "action shots" and, in one instance, a client requested video taping of a session. As some of the clients suggest, the request is made in advance of the session, but after the session is booked. No one makes the request a prerequisite of maintaining a booked session.

 

I personally decline all such requests, for similar reasons as Benjamin, however my imperative is different and has more to do with my comfort in my self-image than in a particular marketing concept or control.

 

I do not believe it has impacted my career in any significant way. In my own case, the couple in Portland who wanted to videotape did end up having a "last minute emergency" the morning of the session.
