I enjoy massage (with extracurricular play) and don’t like to get involved with guys having no “real” massage training. I see these guys advertising in chat rooms (especially AOL) and often claim that the massage must be legitimate and explicitly state “nothing sexual.”.

If these guys are interested in strictly delivering “legitimate” massage, then why advertise in a gay chat room where they know the primary focus is to hookup?

Opinions welcomed from both escorts and clients as this really gets confusing and I never know how to approach these guys. I’ve included an e-mail I received from a guy on AOL (who is a massage therapist in-training) and judging from the services he provides, it seems limited to massage only. I don’t think there are any violations in disclosing this information as there is no mention of his name.

Thanks!

Statement of His Services:

Hi...thanks for being interested in my training!

Please be aware of a few things...

1. This is for LEGITIMATE massage work ONLY. I am in training and in need of many

different clients (various age, body types, etc.)

2. I CANNOT accept payment for the massage. It is against school policy and as much as I would like to, I can't

3. I will be happy to send you images of me and may on occasion as for yours to analyze your body type. I am not asking for your picture to "check you out", so please be aware of that

I am a very well built, strong guy and accommodate just about any level of pressure.

Also be aware that the massage that you receive from me may be a full body, front only, back only, etc. It just depends on where I am at for that phase of training.

Best times for me are M-Th, 7A - 5P

Weekend and night at times MAY be available, but not preferred.

If this is something that you would be interested in, please email me back with the following information:

a. Age

b. Stature: Slim, Avg, Muscular, Husky, Obese

c. ANY physical conditions

d. ANY medications currently taking

e. Level of activity

If you would like to send an image of yourself, that would be fine. Its not necessary. What is necessary is this information.

I will respond to ALL emails

Thanks!

I'm a little confused here; where you offering to forward interest responses to this guy?

If you felt it was necessary to include the whole soliticitation

for review in answering the question as to why solicit in gay chat rooms, and that is pretty much the focus of your interest, then let me offer a couple of possible motivations:

1.) Some gay guys aren't comfortable having sex on the first day,

but don't consider massage sex per se.

My previous boyfriend is a certified massage therapist, won't accept money for sex, but does have sex with about half of his clients after he declares the massage finished when there is mutual interest, and reports that he had both members of a monagamous couple come to him for massages (one scheduled right after the other), and both got roaring hard-ons but neither wanted to be overtly sexual.

2.) The masseur might not feel comfortable giving massages to women,

just because of a more "primal connection" to men, and having

better non-verbal communication.

If, on the other hand, you were willing to forward expressions of interest, you might let us know what city the CMT-in-training lives in ;-).

Actually, I just inquired about his services but never disclosed the fact that I would like the session to include "play." Given the way he presented his services, it didn't feel like I had the opportunity to introduce that possible aspect of the meeting.

Additionally, he sent two pictures of himself; a head-shot and the other with him in just shorts (super hot!!!).

I guess my original post was confusing in that I did not disclose my intentions to this guy. Some guys do not want to get involved in "sexual" discussions for fear that they might be the target of a sting, which I can understand.

You made a good point in that guys advertising in gay chat rooms may want to limit their clients to males. Playing this game of discovery is intriguing and kind of fun ;-), but I do not want to end up disappointing both of us if I was totally off-base (although he did say it was free).

The purpose of my post was to call on the experience of others who may be able to offer some advice on how to approach these discussions.

If someone is advertising his services in the bodywork section of Frontiers(HX, Next, HotSports, BAR, etc), or on an AOL Bodywork4menXXX chatroom, unless he specifically states "legit only" I assume he will at least do "release". I don't think I've ever been proven wrong on that. I don't assume we will have sex, but I will say sometimes things happen. I often don't ask up front, but if he's given a good massage, :p and I think he may be open for more, often ask about his limitations for next time, and more than 50% of the time find they are open to considerably more

Maybe it's just me, but the way I read the masseur's email he is clear about it being a "legit" (aka nonsexual) massage. As to him soliciting in a gay chat room, it could be that he is a gay man who feels more comfortable massaging other gay men. It could be that he wants both female and male clients and finds it easier to find male clients in a gay chat room than a straight one. It never hurts to ask, of course, though he may decline his offer of a free massage if he is offended by your suggestion of something sexual happening during or after the massage.

Body Work M4M

On America On Line, at least in Los Angeles and in New York City, there are often one or more chat rooms for "body work" or "massage" and New York often has a "companion M4M" room going as well.

This is not the case in smaller cities I have visited, including Portland, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and others. San Francisco and San Diego, which both have anywhere from six to seven active chat rooms at one time, also do not have such segreation in their chat rooms.

I do know from having dated several, that the LMT's do not engage in sex as it is, in California, apparently a violation of either a code of conduct or their licensing requirements.

For what this client (and other clients so inclined), I think you need to look for the key phrase of either "sensual massage" or "body rub" (which I always take to mean a very light massage if at all and a hand job or blow job to get the client off as quickly as possible).
