Hi everyone, I cam across an escort who I am very interested in meeting. While checking out his website, he indicated the following:

"Sometimes it’s necessary to ask for ID such as a driver’s license or passport. Please show this information willingly, if there’s hesitancy I’ll probably leave."

I have used the services of a number of escorts for the past few years and I never came across this in websites, in correspondence or when we met. Seems a bit unusual to me and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about this. Clearly I am concerned about confidentiality and a low profile, and prefer to keep things as anonymous as possible. If the escort is concerned about law enforcement, I am not sure how showing ID protects him. Maybe he is concerned about meeting a loony and wants to have some recourse if things go bad but it seems to me that this is a risk that is part of the business. I just wouldn't feel comfortable showing my ID and will probably forgo the meeting but I was curious from people who use escorts if they have been asked for ID and would show it if asked. For escorts, do you every ask for this and why?

Thanks, Wayno....

Hmmmmmmm I wonder what HIS reaction would be if you asked him to show you his ID? And how many guys wander around with their passport?

I'd give him a wide berth!

Probably to make sure you aren't a member of a law enforcment agency. Though you still could be, even if you did show ID: )

As for carrying around your passport, in most of the rest of the world(outside of North America) most carry thier passport on them. Reason? Countries are smaller, you cross borders more frequently, it is the most respected form of identification.

I was asked for ID once when hiring from a ripoff agency in Vegas. The agency had asked where I was from, and told the escort to check my ID to verify that. (Which led to a few minutes of confusion because I'd just relocated so my ID was from a different state.) Lousy agency, but the boy turned out to be great.

I suppose in that case, a caller could say they're from LA but if they have Nevada ID you could be rightly suspicious.

I did once ask an escort to show me his ID because he looked under age. (His driving license said 23.) He held his thumb over the name/address part, which was fine by me.

I'm originally from a tiny country in Latin America. I have also lived in most countries in Europe. No one in Latin America or Europe carries their passport around with them. Most countries, outside the US and Canada, have national id systems and in all countries with these types of id, it is mandatory to carry them at all times.

I usually have guys come over to my place. My last name is next to my buzzer and is on my mailbox. I use my real first name. Obviously anyone I hire will know my real name, if he cares to look. If any of them asked me to show them my id, however, I would definitely not be interested in meeting him. Even if the purpose is to assure himself that you are not in law enforcement (which, as others have noted, would not be proven by showing a driver's license), it indicates an unprofessional approach to this issue. I know there could be other reasons (maybe he's concerned about being ripped off or assaulted and wants to have verification of identity to make a police report, if needed), but I think there would still be better ways to address these concerns. At the very least, this escort's request clearly indicates that he is focused on his own needs and not considering the client's. This doesn't bode well for a fun encounter should you actually hire him.

I'd show him mine if he showed me his. I am well over 18 years of age, so I doubt there would be questions on that. Most of the times I have hired were during business trips, at a hotel. I prefer to keep things discreet and anonymous. With all things equal, he has no reason to see my ID with name/address/ssn, etc.

I use my real first name (which is usually enough to get a call through hotel operators), and accept that escorts use "stage" names, so there is little need to go further. I don't really care about his real name.

One escort asked me for my last name a week or so after we met. I asked why, and he said he just wanted to know me more and how to file my name. I said unless he wants to divulge his real first/last name, he can file me under the first name. Privacy is often needed by clients as well.

>concept of meeting strangers (sometimes very strange I'm

>sure) who want to pay me for sex. I honestly don't know how

>escorts get over that. I'd be scared to death.

You know, in the eight years taht I escorted, I was very lucky that I never had any threatening situation. I guess it's because I was able to suss them out over the phone first.

As for I.D., I never asked for one, but a client in florida once sent me a copy his driver's license to ensure me that he was for real!

Of course a lot of escorts wouldn't want to show their i.d.'s because it would show their real names or ages!!!!

The escort probably meant that he might ask for an ID if the client appeared to be under 18. That of course would be a valid reason and I would, if an escort appeared to be possibly under 18, I would ask to see his ID. But that has never happened. Also, some escorts and agencies advertise that they accept credit cards. If a client wanted to use a credit card he should not object to verifying his ID, since he is already giving the escort his name. I would never do that, nor would I give an escort a check with my name and address. I have always paid in cash.

Jeff, this is my experience also. I've never asked a client for ID and don't believe it would serve any purpose. Cops have the ability to produce fake ID's that are exactly like "real" ID's.

I usually rely on "gut" instinct when seeing a client for the first time. I'm very lucky and have not been wrong yet. :7

I think that the escort has every right to ask for ID. For many reasons....The biggest one is saftey...lets not forget about guys like Jeffery Dahmer out there. The second reason is for assurance, that the potential client is not a cop. My escort agency in Columbus, always asks for ID. Before we asked for ID we had been busted 2 times by the cops. Every since ( over a year now )we have not had any problems. Only 1 out of about 20 guys have a problem with showing their ID. We have no problem turning down that 1 job. Most likely the client was a cop or a loser in the first place. I think the independants should be extra careful asking for ID's and knowing who they are about to go see. I don't buy the whole " I don't want to show my ID cuz I want to be descret and confidential" If you don't trust that the escort or agency is descret you shouldn't hire them or from them in the first place....move on and hire from someone else who doesn't care about their safety and security.

I've worked as an escort for nearly 11 years and I've NEVER asked a client for their ID. Asking a client for ID is no guarantee that they're not a cop, just like asking if they're affiliated with law enforcement doesn't mean a thing. The police will lie...show you their ID, whatever it takes to get you to trust them. You're living in a fantasy world if you think asking for ID will weed out the Jeffrey Dahmers.

And this also ignores the fact that clients are taking risks as well, particularly when hiring someone without an extensive, positive review history. If it makes sense for an escort to see a client's id, then the client seeing the escort's id makes just as much sense. Neither make much sense to me, at least as a screening tool.

>Do your escorts also show their ID to prove their age, or

>that they are not police?

I'm confused - how would showing ID prove that the client is not in law enforcement?
