Why and when do escorts hang it up?

I would like to ask the escorts who have been around a bit (i.e., not someone who gives us the trade after a couple of months)about how they figure out it is time to quit (or maybe cut back). What makes you think of quitting? Is it that you have earned enough money, that you have met the need for money that got you into escorting, that you have a significant other who wants you to quit, that you burned out, or what? Thanks!

I suppose I fall into the "been around a bit" category at nearly 11 years. As a part of my "retirement" plan, I've invested some money and lots of time in an aerobics and tanning studio with my personal trainer. I'm currently seeing mostly regulars and I've decided that I will continue to see clients as long as they continue to call.

 

Age isn't always a determining factor. An escort/friend of mine is 40 years old and is busier than ever.

Hopefully when other interests and pursuits begin to take precedence. For me, the priority of escorting vs. other pursuits has varied over the years, but I've almost always done it at least part-time (which might mean only a couple dates a year). I'm sure I'll hang it up completely eventually. Once the last shred of confidence in my desirability has disappeared, I'm done.

Two escorts I know, one for over 5 years, both "retired" when the careers they had studied for began to support them. In one case escorting had been strictly a means to pay for college. He got the degree and moved on into his field. Escorting allowed both of them

the time and money to plot their futures. Still in touch with the

grad, he's doing well and loves his new job. For some, escorting is

just a means to an end. Gee, I wonder what ugly guys with small dicks

do to put themselves through college?

The two escorts that I've known pretty well that have "retired" both did so when they found someone they wanted to partner with. In one case the escort was somewhat conflicted to begin with-catholic upbringing et.al., and the partner pretty much insisted on it. The other one was in the relationship for almost 9 months and reached the decision that it was time to move on pretty much on his own. The partner knew what he was doing early on, in fact we met on several occasions, and I really don't think applied any pressure.

well, I do have the most in savings I've ever had...so that is a plus! But have been stupid on one account, the whole investing part.......when I look at how much I've made over the course of 5 yrs, most I've blown on great travel (costa rica, australia, etc) which is one of my passions. But am at least now saving for a down payment on a house, and one other dream.....when I decide to have a child....

 

That ultimately, to answer the original question on this post, will be when I decide to absolutely give this up...however, when a partner comes a long as well, I will give this up most likely, unless he does the same thing.....

 

Since I'm not too fearful of my desireability from the standpoint of my clients (at least my regular ones) disappearing, I believe that I could probably carry this on for a while. I guess the other determining factor would be when my own fantasy starts to burn out...part of this for me is a HUGE turn on to do this kind of part time work....

 

But like I said, ultimately, I want to become a father within the next 5 years, (either adoption or through a friend of mine) and that will def. be the closing act on this portion of my life....

 

Gee, bet you don't find that many reasons like that on this site....
