I recently visited an escort I hadn't seen for six months or so, and he told me he'd just taken four months off and been completely celibate - not even jerking off. No sex at all. He said he does this pretty muche evry year for a few weeks at least, and (a) he thought of it as a holiday (b) he didn't really miss the sex and © when he got back to it, the sex was even more exciting. I must say as the guy who broke his most recent holiday, exciting was certainly the word. Do other escorts take time out like this?

There are lots of cultures in other parts of the world that encourage men (I don't know about women) to do just that. It's actually a good idea. Sort of like fasting. In fact, I think I might try it myself.

Don't we all need a little time away from the office - and its unrealistic not to see escorting, at least some of the time as work.

I don't take such lengths of time off, but a few days away is enough to recharge the batteries. One of the perverse pleasures of having so much sex is that wanking once again becomes a wonderful, if furtive sort of pleasure - just like being a teenager all over again.

I find taking a vacation from sex to be an invigorating and welcome part of my sex life. As Will said, there are many cultures in the world where the practice is common among laypersons and spiritual leaders alike. The Ayahuasceros of Ecuador and Peru are trained to abstain from all intercourse. The belief is that the longer a post-pubescent shaman is able to remain celibate, the more powerful his magic (icaros) becomes when visiting the Other Side. The most powerful are elders who have remained virgins, and are highly prized members of the community for their wisdom and strength. Other entheogen-based religions in the world (yage, peyote, psylocybes) have similar sexually ascetic training practices, as in Columbia, Mexico, etc.

For those who are non-magic users, I think the basic idea has great benefit. If you're like me and engage in frequent role play, taking a vacation from sex might allow you to regain or maintain your natural balance more easily ('top drop' anyone?). And of course, saying that the lucky man who breaks your fast will be one happy camper is putting it mildly...
