I respect the fact that it's probably a good idea not to post photos that show an escort's face too clearly on the web. However, the face is probably the most important thing to me (almost tied with the voice). So my question is: Is it out of line to ask for a face photo (by email) when contacting an escort.

I am with you on faces and whether or not it's out of line, I ask for one....I don't hire without knowing what the face looks like. If they refuse to submit, I move on.

I don't believe it's out of line at all. I've hired numerous escorts over the years and have found that being able to see face pic before hiring can be quite helpful. I think that most escorts who don't show a face pic in ads/on websites do so for discretionary purposes, but I've also discovered that some escorts realized that their face wasn't one of their better attributes. As my mother used to say, "She's done the best with what she had to work with.";-)

How timely. Yes I'm one of those escorts (or as my e-mail pals from here have said e-unanimously: Does anyone know that you are an escort?) who for personal reasons has never sent a face pic when talking with a potential client. Well, once, after he hounded and hounded for DAYS and then when I gave in, he backed out in the phone conversation. I'll admit it, it spooks me to have my image on the World Wide Web in such an easily copied and distributed form. My other career depends strongly on my being recognizable in one form or another. I had always held the opinion that clients would appreciate the level of discretion I was willing to place on our encounters. After all, those who contact me from print advertising never seem to mind, as I try to be as descriptive and accurate as possible. Maybe if I lived in a large enveloping city like NY or SF it wouldn't create the same level of anxiety. Those of you who also live in small towns with big buildings (like Philadelphia) may be able to relate. I keep replaying my gut reaction on seeing a well advertised escort on the street for the first time..."He looks like that? The face is kinda right, but man! He needs to change those pics tout de suite!"...and then kicked myself for being so mentally rude. (and physically, as I did follow him a couple blocks to make sure)

 

Having said all that, I literally just finished editing my first ever face pics intended for client queries. Professional shots aren't an option, as I'm a po' ho, and a do it yourself-er besides. This being the Ask An Escort section, I'd really appreciate some feedback from the established pros as to which one(s) would be most boner inducing to clients. Private message me if you wouldn't mind helping me make a decision, and I'll send the lot, along with the new crop of half face torso/body type photos (I know. They're kind of annoying.) As an unreviewed escort (gasp) I realize that most around here view us as little better than dangerous thieving crack addicted thugs who scare small children with our mugs, but people who have no reason to care have told me I'm attractive so I really never thought it'd be such an issue for me. Besides, I use completely different methods to scare small children.

I will not hire an escort without 2 different pics showing their face. My request has only been turned down once in my many years meeting guys on the Internet. I don't even care if the pic is nude, I just want to be sure the escort is real.

Sorry guys, but you have to respect our privacy and with the WWW, just too much to risk. However, I advertise in Frontiers here in L.A. and have done quite nicely without a face pic. Only once in the 7 years that I've been doing this have I been turned away by someone. He was really into having me come over, but then he got overly concerned about what if I showed up and he didn't like me? So, we made a date for when I was going to in his neighborhood anyway. Sure enough, he said that it wouldn't work out.

 

When I've talked to other escorts that don't show their faces, they agree with me that these guys would probably turn down Brad Pitt if he showed up.

 

So, that's my experience with those that are hung up on the face.

 

BTW, the rest of my clients have all been quite happy with my face...and the rest of me for that matter !

Tre bien. For being so charming, I would be more than happy to review your picture, crop them for you if you care for that and ad text as well.... I do this all the time for friends here in LA who escort and they are no where near as polite.

As for the main question, everyone has thus far provided the correct answer, unless there is a compelling reason not to provide a face shot, one should be willingly sent in an email. Posting on the web is a different story. I am often told I am very handsome and sexy but I only like one of my face shots which is recent, which is why I constantly take them ... one of these days, one is bound to be one I can live with, at least for a few days. However, the interesting thing is when I do send a face shot, gentlemen who respond with "nice" or "handsome" but "not what I had in mind." Which is the other side of the coin. A client turns down an escort for any number of reasons, to which the client is, most certainly, entitled to do, including not sending a face or submission of a face picture which was not 'what [the client] had in mind.'

A face pic is much better than a dick pic or body shot. I just don't want to take that chance and hire a guy not knowing what his face looks like. I don't know -- it's just me. And then again, even with a face pic, I've known an escort or two (or more) than have been using the same tired pic for years!
