CALL ME BY YOUR NAME is still the last book to make me cry. Soooooo much better than the movie.

Speaking of books that make ppl cry, Everyone seems to have sobbed reading Hanya Yanagihara’s A LITTLE LIFE. I loved reading and highly recommend it but found it too implausible to actually buy into it emotionally.

I have read 4 of Aciman's books.  I enjoyed all of them.

CMBYN is special.  I have listened to the audiobook and read it multiple times.

, I like the characters developed by John Irving, like TS Garp in "The World according to Garp, or Owen Meaney in "A prayer for Owen Meaney". His characters are all very human: they get knocked down but get up, they fail but try again, occasionally they succeed and there is a great joy.

A Prayer for Owen Meaney is one of my all time favorites. Hilarious, heartbreaking, uplifting.. multiple rereads.

Every decade or so I also find myself rereading the Mary Stewart Merlin series… The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills, and The Last Enchantment. These were the early books in my life that turned me into a voracious reader. Rereading is self rediscovery.

At some point I’ll reread Ken Follett’s Kingsbridge series, though a major commitment!

I'm just about to re-read Project Hail Mary, with the movie coming out next month. I read it a few years ago and remember absolutely loving it. The Martian was great too, Andy Weir's second book Artemis wasn't all that great.
