Very sad news

Mary Wilson of the Supremes has died at 76

Berry Gordy praised her for her talent and continuing support of the Supremes. Which is ironic since he made her like a living hell.

Part of my childhood, growing up in Detroit, listening, and liking the Motown sound on CKLW (the Canadian radio station south of Detroit), and Keener 13 (WKNR). I'm going to have to walk down memory lane and listen to those early songs.

 

Perhaps not widely acclaimed, but she was one of the very many talented entertainers of that era many of us enjoyed.

I remember a trivial pursuit question, what is the first foreign country you reach travelling south from Detroit. People were guessing at Mexico and Caribbean islands when the answer was across the river.
