Except that I can't stand or walk for more than a minute or two without terrible back and/or leg pain. (Sciatica and lumbar radiculopathy). I spend my life sitting down. And I've been an insomniac my whole life. My parents used to go to bed after the 11PM news & my sister and I would stay up to watch Carson.

Sorry to hear that walking is a problem. Would a foot cycle work? I got one for like $30 from Bed Bath & Beyond & am able to use it while sitting. When I lost weight in the mid-90s, I did a lot of walking, drank a lot of water (still do that) and switched from fried food to grilled/roasted/baked as much as possible. If any of that helps to know :)
