Danny-Darko Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 (edited) A sailor from H.M.S. Otter with his close friend, possible lover. This could have been taken in China, as HMS Otter was stationed there from1900 to 1916. The previous HMS Otter had been broken up in 1893, and the man on the left is wearing a collar that looks Edwardian. Edited July 15, 2021 by Danny-Darko

Danny-Darko Posted July 15, 2021 Posted July 15, 2021 Touching German Couple WW2 - Probably a friend with a camera alone where they could be themselves. I have to remind myself that these men were drafted into military service just like other waring countries did with their men. Discovery or refusal would have meant death in the camps.
Danny-Darko Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 (edited) The mystery photos of a 1957 gay wedding: TIL that photographs developed from a reel left at a pharmacy in Philadelphia in 1957, seem to depict a 1957 gay wedding. The ceremony took place in a flat with the blinds drawn. The grooms are shown kissing, cutting their wedding cake and opening presents. The subjects remain unidentified. The people who took these photos never got to see them because the pharmacy that developed them refused to return them. The owner thought that images of men kissing, dancing with each other, having a marriage ceremony were indecent and obscene. If they’re still alive, they would be in their 80s or 90s by now. 👇 Home | Our One Story The mystery photos of a 1957 gay wedding - BBC News Edited July 16, 2021 by Danny-Darko + WilliamM, Eggman, beachboy and 1 other 3 1
