OK, I admit I'm not on the cutting edge of fashion, but when did white belts on men suddenly become chic again? I thought they were banned years ago.

ho's, folks who think that owning a manufactured home on a rented

 

lot means living the American Dream and those who consider Pat

 

Robertson profound and Jimmy Swaggart and the Pope as Holy Men, the

 

white belt is always in fashion, along with those velcro closure

 

shoes, hair scrunchies, money belts and hating fags.

White Belts: in with polyester pants in '72. Out in '75. Gawd awful the whole time.

I've been wearing white belts with white k-swiss tennies out to the gay clubs for about a year now. Fashion does tend to recycle itself ;-)

White belts have been popular for quite a while with some of the dancers at Stockbar in Montreal.

 

My (higly controversial and heavily disputed) opinion is that it is a signal that the dancer in question is a bottom.

The white belt resurgence started about 3 years ago. Its a very euro-trashy, hipster kind of statement. There was an episode of Ugly Betty last season where the goal was to "find this year's white belt trend". Kind of passe in NYC but you still see it with the fedora wearing, club going set.

I steered clear of the trend until recently when I tried on an an iteration of the belt that suited my overall style.

I like it.

But every time I wear it someone tries to take me back to his place in Brooklyn.
