I heard from a friend, who was an escort during the Cats and Stella's era, that there is renewed street hustling going on at Central Park West / 86 street entrance and the paths beyond, at night time. I am advised that this is rough trade and not to bring anything of value - just cash for a possible 'transaction'. Has anyone heard of this? Or possibly explored it for yourself?

I guess times are tough.... but with the convenience of the internet... not sure what type of “trade” just do that? Perhaps to maintain even more anonymity?

Indeed, there are a number of fresh faces on mintboys and friendboy.pro - I did some window shopping a week ago out of curiosity.

I am not surprises by this, or the possibility of rough trade at the park...

Interesting--haven't heard this, but suspect it may have grown out of opportunistic guys looking for johns who were frustrated by not hooking up in the nearby Ramble. That's an affluent neighborhood--will be surprised if this is tolerated for long. All it will take is a couple of well-heeled, well-connected neighbors on late evening walks with their dogs who see something they don't want to and . . . .

You are right. I would imagine that the actual activity goes on in the surrounding shrubs and away from the main path ways around there.

The well-heeled on the UWS were not able to stop turning the Lucerne, Belleclaire and Belnord hotels into homeless shelters - with dire consequences for overall quality of life around there. But that is a different subject.

Is the Ramble still cruisy at night? I thought that cruising there had disappeared altogether.

Many of the well heeled have probably fled to their country homes.

Actually, they knew nothing about the Lucerne, etc. ahead of time, but were able to bring enough force to bear to get the city to move all the homeless out of the Lucerne and to move the sex offenders out of the Belleclaire.

I don't know from personal experience, but from the discussion on Squirt there's still activity in the Ramble.

I believe that decision was appealed by Legal Aid Society. Not sure where it stands right now. In fact, I should know because I live 5 blocks away.
