Gents, I'm getting inquiries from a site called Friendboy Pro. Mostly bogus not serious guys but I wandered over to the site anyway to check out and its an exact replica of my RM page. Is this common they they just replicate content without permission? Is it a popular site? I can't even access my profile as I don't have an account with them but it lists my phone and email.

I would say probably a scammer who has hijacked your profile, except you say the phone and email are same. Strange.

They do that. That’s why they always ask the customers to tell the escort that they found the ad on their site. So when they change to a pay to advertise method you’ll consider them. At the moment they charge for some upgrades to the free ads. If you ask them they’ll remove your listing.

Long story short... when friendboy.pro (it was using another name at the time) began a rep from the site was on this forum asking questions on how to improve the site. Their aim was to be direct competition to and surpass rentmen. As time wore on and they began to make adjustments according to some posters suggestions, it came out that the creators of the site where copying ads from rentmen without many escorts' knowledge... sometimes getting information wrong. When they were called out for this by members and escorts on the forum, the rep became defensive of the practice... with most of the forum against it.

 

Eventually, if I'm recalling correctly, the rep implied they'd stop the ad copying, but of course, they didn't. The rep got fed up with the attacks and the call outs and stopped posting. Fast forward today, they are apparently still copying escorts' ad as proved by your inquiry.

 

Is it a legit site? Yes. I don't know how popular it is overall but I think rentmen is still king, as it were. You would need to contact the site's administrators about anything to do with your ad should you need to change or delete it.

happened to a escort i was seeing as a regular. bigntall may be referring to his situation. had an ad on rentmen. all of a sudden his exact ad was transcribed onto friendboy EXCEPT they took the liberty to falsify the escorts age from his real age of 25 to 35. why did they do this? not really sure but a few lonely, desperate johns that couldnt get the escort to "fuck me raw" and "make me bleed" went on a rampage to lie about the escorts real age to try to harm his business. so.... did they take the liars information as a truth? did they know the liars? were they the liars? after much back and forth about this, friendboy finally took down the escorts ad. he never asked them to place it for free and he never paid to have an ad there.

IIRC, at the beginning they had 2 reps @Boomxyz & @SecretShopper. When those two couldn't take the heat they sent us @Angel. They're all gone now.

Which is the exact same model that rentmen followed when it started out....copying ads from rentboy without knowledge and permission. Neither is/was appropriate.

I didn’t say it was appropriate for rentmen to do it either. The big difference being rentmen didn’t have a direct outlet for people to be vocal about the practice as friendboy.pro did. Furthermore, the fact that the reps for friendboy got so defensive about it, saying exactly what you stated didn’t help their cause.

I've also found that because they copy ads, a lot of ads on Frienboy are quite old. I know of at least 4 guys listed in Denver that have definitely moved or are no longer escorting.

I don’t use it... tried to but it will list someone in a city they haven’t been in for months. Only time it’s been helpful is when a rm add is expired. It will list and give you a number. I txted a couple of escorts that let their ad expire for cost reason but still happy to meet

And that's the reason why people went after them on this forum. Instead of a "mea culpa" response they get extremely defensive. A good company would have done almost anything to get you to stay on the site and if you still refused, post something like we're sorry to see you go.

Shit, that's a pretty sad response. The lack of cadence and proper syntax remind me of talking to a chatbot.

 

Even more reason to boycott that site. Who needs that bullshit.
