Mrs. America

Does anyone have a comment on the Hulu/FX miniseries Mrs. America starring Cate Blanchett? This is Cate's first TV role. I think she has mastered a mid-western accent. The series is a glimpse into 1970's America and the fight to pass the Equal Rights Amendment.

Really enjoying it (sort of). Cate Blanchett is amazing even if her character is hard to like (but so was Phyllis Schlafly so I guess that means she’s nailing the part). I’m enjoying the (however fictitious) dynamic between the other ladies in the series as well (especially enjoying seeing Tracy Ullman’s Betty Friedan). Good TV!

I'd listen to Blanchett read a medical journal. She's crazy talented.

I've seen the play Rapture, Blister, Burn about Schlafly. Was a Pulitzer finalist. One of my takeaway's was how I would appreciate a play about someone like her.

For me, Mrs. America proves the same thing, how interesting such a portrayal can be. The cast is tremendous, e.g. Margo Martindale, John Slattery and on and on.
