Rod Hagen Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 How about his version of this song. They performed at Dawn at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. One of the best concerts I've ever been to" + easygoingpal and thisidethatside 2
Rod Hagen Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Some beautiful Minnesota music with thoughts toward what they are going through right now + easygoingpal 1
Rod Hagen Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 And something beautiful from a beautiful transgender artist. I've never seen music move through a person like it does in this song. + easygoingpal and thisidethatside 2
thisidethatside Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 oh good one - i've been obsessed with "hoble con ella" (the song) + easygoingpal and Rod Hagen 2
+ easygoingpal Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 And something beautiful from a beautiful transgender artist. I've never seen music move through a person like it does in this song. Great song and outstanding performance! Sounded familiar... Then, I remember the artist: Leonard Cohen...
+ easygoingpal Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I was only a young lad when I was first experiencing the feeling of being in love (unrequited love at the time). MrMattBig and BabyBoomer 2
MrMattBig Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 I was only a young lad when I was first experiencing the feeling of being in love (unrequited love at the time). Reminded me of high school antics where a girl in my class would goof around trying to hit that high note. This song in hign school a few of us joined in singing for a prom-posal within our group. Thanks for reminding me of a moment that made me chuckle today + easygoingpal 1
Rod Hagen Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Great song and outstanding performance! Sounded familiar... Then, I remember the artist: Leonard Cohen... Yes. Normally I'm very hesitant to embrace another performer reimagining an artist's work. But where Leonard Cohen is concerned, as wonderful as his voice and presence was (saw him live multiple times), his music seems to be made to reinterpret. Like this one: + easygoingpal 1
Rod Hagen Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 oh good one - i've been obsessed with "hoble con ella" (the song) Lovely song. Crushingly beautiful movie. One of his best. + easygoingpal 1
+ easygoingpal Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 music will pull you through it. It's an avalanche of behaviors from the human race... There's no escaping it. The moment you come in contact with another human being, you can get love or hate or both in return (there's a thin line). Makes me mindful of who and what we are... ?? Rod Hagen 1
Rod Hagen Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 It got "overplayed", so people love to make fun of it. Doesn't make it any less soul-stirring. + easygoingpal 1
Rod Hagen Posted May 30, 2020 Posted May 30, 2020 The first time I heard this, I cried. I never cry. I know that my Mom will pass some day, I know it. But I just can't imagine it. I don't know if song made that reality easier or harder. But I'm grateful for it. + easygoingpal 1
