RE: Two more questions I'd ask

My dear friend zipperzone raises an interesting question. Mr. Adriadne also started a new thread on the Heath Ledger death even though josephga had already started one.

MantoMan Dave has three separate threads on his mailing list problem. Looking for help or just advertising? You decide!

And why do so many people who are the first to respond to a thread feel it necesssary to cut and paste the original post that they are responding to? Any ideas on that Gar1eth?

Gee - that's a good idea and it makes it so easy to scroll back and see what has already been said NOT

RE: Two more questions I'd ask

I didn't even see the thread on Mr. Ledger when I posted the news. The threads appeared almost simultaneously.

And how more interesting it would be to just answer the thread rather than ask tiresome questions .... but we know many cannot see the forest for the trees.

And while we are on that subject ... why keep calling me "Mr. Ariadne" or "Ariadne" when every single one of my posts is signed "Mark?"

Now, that's weird.

Mark

RE: Two more questions I'd ask

I would also agree that it is normal, if not appropriate, to use a poster's username. I participate in a couple of different message boards and people get to know each other by their username. Just the sight of a person's username can either pique my interest or make me wary of reading their post.

Many of the escorts on here (let's use Rick Munroe for an example) choose to use their name. I'm presuming this is helpful to their business. Since Rick and Derek prefer to do duos, they even created a second username of 'Rick Munroe and Derek Ross'. (Granted, I'm sure Rick Munroe and Derek Ross aren't their REAL names, but they are their escort names ... instead of usernames like 'bestrecognizablebutt')

Then there's escorts like 'ript4hire'. Most everyone active in the message board knows his name is Eric, but more often than not you'll see him referred to as ript4hire or even simply as 'ript'.

Then there are guys such as 'zipperzone', 'lucky' and 'uwsman2' who are very well known posters on here. I would think the majority of people on the message board have no clue what their real names are.

So Mark, if it's important to you that posters refer to you by name, it would be my suggestion to create a different username with Mark as part of the name. :-) :-) :-)

I could be wrong but I very much doubt if that is his real name (and why should it be). Considering he doesn't post a face picture for fear of family identification, I'm sure his birth name is quite different.

However...... all attemps at concealing his true identity are probably in vain as his famous butt picture is known world-wide!

Even his banker commented on it ;-)

RE: Two more questions I'd ask

Well, I threw the "Mr." in there so you would know that my question wasn't meant to be disrespectful to you. I was just curious as to why these things happen. You aren't the only one, just the latest one, to double up a thread.

As for your other questions, when you come into an established setting you should not be surprised that people have already established some habits. The screenname has historically been the one we use. Many people posting here are closeted, and others don't want to use their real name since they are, after all, posting on a website about escorts.

You are welcome to try to change the way we do things, but expect some opposition. People in any way of life can be very set in their ways.

Sometimes the forums have a serious purpose, sometimes a locker room mentality, and there is teasing and backslapping. Other times you might think you were back on a grade school playground, sometimes in the gang of teengirls all aflitter about the latest hot boy. That's us! Welcome to the club.

RE: Two more questions I'd ask

You have a good point, Lucky, but I do think you are missing mine. What you say makes sense if the person posting doesn't use a name. I do use a name ... why not use it instead of just doing what one feels like doing?

If a person actually, uses a name it should be used. That's just common sense and the right thing to do.

I realize that many don't get that, however.

Cheers,

Mark

Whether you will ever have "my problem" is a matter for conjecture.

You do, however, have one huge problem - namely STUPIDITY.

The comments I made in my post had no bitterness or nastiness to them and only a fool could conclude such.

And as for my last sentence, it had a smily after it, dumbo, which means it was a joke.

Get a life and get off the crack you accused me of using.

If Rick thinks there was anything wrong with the post he is more than able to say so. Until then, just shut up!

It's really not fear of family (oops...that was a joke I once told on here and I guess once something's in print, it's forever true). I just want to be able to go about my day without being recognized ("Hey gang, look! That's the guy who, according to Review # 32, moans like a bitch when he gets his ass eaten out!"). I mean, I like being cruised, but I also like a little anonymity, too. They can find out how I moan when they eat me out themselves... }(

LOL Well, I did get that loan pretty easily. :p

Does it have anything to do with Ariadne's thread, which Theseus used to find his way out of the Labyrinth?

Maybe Mr/Ms/ Ariadne (aka Mark) wants us to use his/her thread instead of anyone else's?

Thanks Rick - there was never a doubt in my mind that you would take it the way it was intended :-)
