I saw it but haven't messed with it too much yet. It does seem like certain profiles have it and others don't so may be it's an opt-in or opt-our for the escorts on there.

Exactly what I’ve experienced as well. Tried experimenting with it and some appeared in the search and others didn’t, regardless of whether I used their profile name or contact number. I’m thinking it’s opt-in/opt-out.

I thought maybe it was more if the escort you were looking

at was online at the same time, it gave to the option to chat.

Not sure though.

Funny you should say that. On the day chat was implemented, the pop-up displayed when an advertiser was online, but not when an advertiser was offline. While still annoying, it makes sense. The following day, it started displaying for all profiles. Apparently when you click on the "chat" icon it sends a notification to the escort's phone. THAT is not only annoying but invasive.

Looks like we all share the same level of skepticism. Like so many other pop-ups, I've learned that is best to just ignore them. If I want talk to one of the fellows on Rentman, I either text or email.

As an escort, it's annoying as fuck and a feature I eventually hope they can allow us to turn off

I wonder if there IS a way to turn it off. While browsing ads yesterday I found a couple where the annoying pop-up did not display.

I'm guessing that it would be a timing issue with the internet connection. A feature like this is typically the last to load to a web page.

Good guess, but doubtful. I stayed on the page for several minutes to see what would happen. Page was all done loading by then.

Found it. You can switch it off.

Go to the chat section --- find settings cog icon in the lower left corner --- toggle everything off.

So...

I already changed my settings to no calls/no sound. Still see the little pop-up. :(

Checked your ad and, sure enough - pop-up. :( :(

Did you turn them off?
