James, If you do a search on that topic you will come up with many threads that address the issue.

My favorite is and always will be The Lucky Horseshoe on Hasted. It has dancers every night of the week and afternoons on Saturdays and Sundays. It is the longest surviving stripper bar in Chicago, and when you read the old posts, be aware that it has been expanded recently, (two rooms of dancers) and it has been spruced up considerably.

Has anyone been to Horseshoe recently? Are there covid restrictions? Im only interested in going back once I can get a lap dance from the boys.

I went there two weeks ago (before the CDC announced the new mask policy). I thought they were very well organized. The two of us were met at the door and escorted to a place at the bar 6 feet from the nearest patron. The bar was limited to 50% capacity at that time. The bartenders and dancers wore masks as well as the patrons until they were served a drink. We were able to walk up to the stage (with our masks on) and tip the dancers. One of our favorite dancers stopped by the bar where we were sitting to talk to us as usual. This was on a weeknight, and he said that on weekends, there is a line outside where people wait to get in. (two come out; two come in). So different from Florida where I was the previous month where over half of the patrons were maskless and smashed into the place at full capacity. (I didn't stay long)

Thanks for the update. It's been some years since I have been to "the horseshoe". I'm curious as to what you thought of the quality of the dancers. Years back many were pretty seedy types and mostly twink and fem. Has that changed? Are there more masculine hunky types there too now? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I remember the "seedy reputation" The Shoe had back in the day, LOL, although I sort of liked it. The dancers that I saw the other night were more the "masculine hunky types" that you described. There were no twinkly types that night much to my dismay. More dancers tend to be there on the weekends. The dancer that I knew that night, was the only one I recognized; the rest seemed new to me. I'm not sure the last time you were there, but Micah has really renovated the place and cleaned it up. There are three rooms there now - each with its own bar. And the middle room with the recessed floor in the middle has been leveled so no one is falling down the steps as they enter.

Thanks C.E.O. Sounds like I might need to make a trip back to Chicago this year. Although, I prefer muscular hunky dancers, I am fine if a bar has a good mix of body types and races such that there is something for everyone. That way, all patrons get something they like to look/play with. Back in the day, "The Shoe" had quite seedy twinks and I didn't find anything to hold my interest. Appreciate the update!

I moved to Chicago a couple years ago and was very surprised at the lack of gogo/stripper nights, especially coming from NY, where there was Adonis, Macho Mondays, Spunk, BuffBoys, etc. etc. I wish Adonis or Spunk would expand to Chicago.

I seem to always have bad luck at Lucky Horseshoe (ha) as I'm into buffer guys and it seems like every time I go it's all twinks.

Sadly to say, that is how it has been in Chicago for a long, long, time.  That is why so many of us in Chicago travel to cities like NYC, Ft. Lauderdale, etc.

Give "The Shoe" another try;   I was there last week and although I prefer twinks, it was all big buff guys.  LOL

Chicago has suffered for years under mayors (Daley Jr. was the worst) who seem to hate any place that sells alcohol and a tradition of "aldermanic privilege" that allows local communities to effectively kill businesses they don't want. Madrigal's was the last true strip club in the city and they fought their local neighbors for years before deciding to decamp to New Orleans. It's embarrassing how puritanical people can still be in this city.

Oh!  Madrigals!   I had forgotten.  How I loved that place and the private parties help upstairs by the owner.  I visited his bar in New Orleans but it didn't last.  I wonder what happened to him.
