Too bad the umpire missed that final call as he never touched the plate. Oh well. Phillie deserves it as much as San Diego.

I saw the game in which the Phillies first brought him up from the minors--they had hoped to give him more seasoning, but they were desperate for a power hitter at the time. As soon as I saw that handsome, butch face and those hairy arms, with tufts of hair peeking out of his uniform at the neck, I knew he would become my favorite Phillie, regardless of his batting average.

I am horrified! I just watched Burrell's first at bat in today's game, and he has removed the hair from his arms. Yet another victory for the feminization of the American male. Something must be done to stop this regrettable trend among athletes.
