I met my first hire before we hooked up. He lived in a wealthy Long Island town. We talked on the phone often before meeting again (before hooking up).

He asked for tuition help - rising college junior. I just laughed. He looked like Scott Baio. Still, we did have fun twice. Nice guy, too bad. Very sexy college student.

I don't lend money to anyone, not just providers

Sooooo....had a great Sunday morning visit with this law school student. Gave him a modest allowance, made plans to see each other in a week’s time. Monday morning....ugh:

I told him my strict policy was not to send any funds before a meeting, especially since this was not a long standing arrangement. He won’t let go:

Lol. That’s what you get for using Grindr to hire.

Hardly a situation unique to Grindr.

And hardly a Grindr situation unique to hiring.

I am on Grindr a few times a month.

Last month I had someone try to scam me for a PlayStation store code for $50 to keep there little sibling upstairs busy, and a few days ago for Uber money in advance round trip for an amount that was way more than what it should be for the distance they were from me.

Both regular hookups.

One thing is paying in advance where the escort has to deliver X number of prepaid appointments and other thing is a loan...

That does not always work out either. Even with close friends when sex is not involved.

My first lesson was 20 years ago....an escort I’d seen multiple times who suggested paying for x number of sessions in advance. I did so. Got ghosted, never heard from him again.

Silly why so many stories of escorts doing that... they lose business and they might piss off the wrong person. Besides there's something way wrong about someone behaving like that with others, Karma!

I only recall being asked for an "emergency" loan once. It was a guy I'd met only one time, but I was into him. He was a young marine and in a bad way financially so he decided to be gay for pay to earn some quick cash. The first meeting went well. Then one day he texted me while I was at the gym. He claimed he was desperate for gas money. He wanted to come right then and meet me in the parking lot of the gym and he only wanted like $40. My gut told me his story was legit so I said yes. When he got there, he offered me a watch to hold as collateral (LOL). I didn't take the watch and I made sure he knew the money was a gift. Again it was only $40 so it wasn't anything I would miss.

I'm glad I did it. But I never did meet up with him again. I guess he found some other solution to his money problems.

To all the posters who have a story, what the hell. If my doctor called and said he was strapped for cash to pay his golf club due, I would not lend him money. If my lawyer called and he asked to borrow money to have his eye teeth sharpened. I would not lend him money. So why in the world would you lend money to a stranger who has sex with you for money? Stop and remember, these are not your friends. And if a friend called and asked to borrow money with a half assed story, I would say no. Don't confuse it. They love the money not you.

I must admit,I once lent money to a Nigerian Prince who texted me and asked to borrow some money and said he would supply me with a huge bounty when the funds from Nigeria were transferred. He hasn't called back.

Lend money once and you are on the hook for more... While it may or may not be a real need I doubt if the tables were turned you would probably not get a reply.

I've been stung a few times, but I've got a very hard line about such matters now.

Had seen a pretty young guy--blue collar--for years and was surprised he'd throw it all away for an advance of $100, but apparently he has. I've had a few who got $ out of me because they claimed their compulsive gambling left them in bad straits.

Watch out for a Brazilian named Jeffrey who completely abased himself to get $ out of me without having sex. Hot-looking, hair, athletic guy but WHAT A CREEP.

In any case, never again!

This has happened to me on multiple occasions. Very transparent their "situations" were fictional. So I always play the game they are playing. If they ask to "borrow" money for an "emergency" I give them a laundry list of the "emergencies" that I have. Telling them I would love to loan them the money, I then follow up with multiple reasons why I can't. I tell them: 1) My adjustable rate mortgage just got jacked sky high so my house payment just went up $2,000/month 2) My mother just got placed in a facility and I am footing the bill of $4,500/month 3) I was just hit with a huge IRS bill of $9,700. I then tell them I am lucky to scrounge up the money just to continue seeing them. This shuts them up fast, as they count their blessings at least they have not lost me as a regular client. They never ask again, just happy I am not dropping them. Works every time. Two can play this game.
