I'm wondering why the scare quotes around the word composer? Do you have any reason to doubt that is how he self-identifies? It's tough making a living that way ... writers of fiction also don't often strike it rich, J.K. Rowling and Steven King to the contrary. There is one current person-of-porn and forum member (Dirk Caber), who is conservatory-trained and writes as much as he can; I know of 3 other guys who are passionate about it, one of whom used to advertise before he got a part-time gig as a musician in an army reserve band, but is scrambling for other income like doing church gigs. My reaction is, "If they're into the rest, did they leave out kissing because they also left out "saying hello" and "opening the door when you knock," etc, and it's just assumed?
