... yes the bar ... I mean I wouldn't post it if it weren't newsworthy.

Apparently the beloved stripper bar of West Hollywood will be taking a sabbatical for some time due to a faulty air conditioning set up.

Our dear Mickey's has been to date the best place to see HOT go-go boys shaking their junk without shlepping to MJ's in Silverlake. I'm sure the bar will be back up to code in no time.

Thankfully it seems nobody was seriously hurt.

When I saw that story on the news, they identified the place as the "East/West Lounge". Indeed only one of the three links you posted identify it at Mickeys.

This is sad.

(And some small part of me says "boy they'll do ANYTHING to get out of Forest Men month! }( )

The fox link reports the address to be 8857 SMB which is the address for Mickey's

East West Lounge I believe has an address of 8851 SMB according to some information web sites.

Not sure this clears anything up but just thought I'd add it to the mix.

It wasn't me honest, I was at the airport. But will admit I thought a lot of nasty thoughts about Mickeys the last couple days.

Maybe if the staff are out of work for a bit they'll try and be a bit more accomdating with their customers or those of us who want to be their customers.

I have to agree with Raul on this one. With only one exception, the bar staff at Micky's is probably the worst at service I have seen anywhere. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten the wrong drink or short-changed $5 every time I give a $20 bill. It's the most unbelievable thing I've ever experienced in a service establishment.

I'm kinda surprised to hear about the service.

I haven't been there in a couple of years, but the service was always friendly and competent back then. Did they change management?

From what I hear, bartender selection is a popularity contest and extensions of friends etc versus trying to find the right people for the job and that has deteriorated the service. I have heard that from a few sources. But maybe this jolt will help them re-evaluate how they staff.

My experience has always been that the dancers at Mickeys perform a strip TEASE. Also, friends and I were there 2 months ago and swear we were served spiked drinks (very drunk with one well drink each, massive headaches the following morning). Would only be served a beer that is opened in front of me is the the new rule there.

Does that mean all those street types hanging out looking for 'recreeational candy' will have to go elsewhere?

You must mean by 'hot' gogo dancers, the guys sweating under the hot lights on stage!

So they served you a mickey, thats why they call the place Mickeys. Well seems like a good reason to stick to bottled water. Better for dancing anyway.

And one more reason to avoid going there when they reopen. Yeah I'm just a little bitter about them. Suppose I'll get over it eventually.

And all this time I thought they were chosen based on how they looked with their shirts off. At least there's a *real* selection criteria. :7
