I tried the search function a couple of ways and didn't see a thread on this...apologies in advance if I missed something.

I recently contacted a masseur who only offers out calls. I had reached out to him before but he was out of town. We messaged back and forth one day when I saw he was back in NYC, I confirmed his rate and then he asked for my address. Upon receiving it, he says I can send him an Uber along with his address. Out of curiosity I did an estimate for how much the ride would be and it turned out to be around $45 given there is a lot of traffic. His ad doesn't state anything about the client needing to pay for his transport there, or back for that matter and in our previous chat he never mentioned it either. (We are both in the same borough, albeit on different sides)

My question is: Is it fair for a provider to expect for the client to pay for transport if they only provide out calls, especially if it isn't stated in the ad in advance?

No, it's not expected but it could be negotiated, it's also a good icebreaker for a first meeting. It's a nice gesture of encouragement to show the client is truly interested in meeting and the escort won't knock at a door and not get an answer.

I would suggest doing it late at night and if you're not close to metro/public transportation. Besides you know for sure they guy will show up and won't ghost you.

@latbear4blk for example offers to pick up guys at hotels and takes them to his place. Maybe that has something to do with a escort who post on here and refused to go there because he considered the area not safe. Anyways it's a nice way to help someone and an "indirect" way to tip him.

Forty five dollars is not a lot until you add the other related fee. Does he have excellent reviews. I have paid for transportation once, but it was for a well-known person, who did not request the payment. But, I am glad I did it. My advice: do it this once and see how the appointment turns out.

I nearly absolutely refuse to pay for uber to get to my place. Why should I pay for someone's uber when I am OK with taking the subway myself? And, I live in a very convenient location, and I don't request late appointments. Yes, it does add up. I'd rather pay the escort a higher fee than negotiate ordering an uber, asking him for his address, hoping the driver picks him up, etc... It's far more complicated than my little head can deal with. The last time i succumbed to paying for uber, the escort was already 300 and he was a dud and did not look exactly like his pictures sadly.

It was $45 to get to me and presumably another $45 to get back, in addition to the $160 for the massage.

My gripe isn't so much paying for it, so much as it was never mentioned, and seemed to be based on how far he had to travel. I suppose in the reverse, if I'm not willing to travel to the other end of the city to a provider, I won't hire him. But in the case of a provider, if you do not even offer in calls, I kind of feel like it's on you to either absorb the time/cost of travel or factor that into your fee from the beginning.

As for reviews on the guy, they were so so, but he has a great body, so I was willing to take the plunge.

Outside the price point and where responsibility of transportation lies, asking a client to provide a Lyft/Uber is a tactic used by some escorts to ensure a client is real and won't flake or ghost them once they arrive to the address. Its like a deposit, but a safer version from a client perspective because its not going into the escorts pocket and you know they are coming.

Deal breaker and extremely unprofessional. This MUST be disclosed before the booking not after. Get ready for the Rent Men ad assessment and the Gym recovery fee . I cancel any engagement when they wait to inform me after I book of undisclosed fees and ad-ons. Clients deserve up-front pricing and the opportunity to make informed decisions. Don't settle for anything less.
