Hey everyone, I am gonna go visit the sin city in July 18th, I was wondering if any place is a must visit for any of you that you might suggest me a visit.

thanks everyone for your suggestion!

I like the green house atrium thing at the Bellogio (sp). Also it would only be a one time thing cause once you see it once that is all you'll need to see is the light show downtown. Imo Vegas is beginning to become over rated. For some odd reason people still think it is ok to bring the kids and strollers. But since you are going in the summer time, if you head outside during the day drink lots and lots of water since it'll be over 100 degrees.

Hugs,

Greg

I forgot, don't rent a car or take a cab. Traffic on the strip is aweful! It's better to walk or take the bus. Also take the shuttle to and from your hotel. Cabbies have been known to take the long way and gouge riders on fares. For more info on Vefas check out http://www.cheapovegas.com and http://www.flyertalk.com

And as for transportation, I gotta disagree with seaboy.

I always rent a car in vegas. It's cheaper than cabs, faster than buses, and parking at all casinos is easy and free. It also might depend on if you want to go to the downtown casinos. I love that area. (and, yes, sometimes traffic on the strip can be like the lincoln tunnel at rush hour.)

I understand seaboy's concern about a rental and driving, but have to agree that renting a car is a good idea, if you think you'll even need one.....they are cheap to rent if you go the hotwire/orbitz/priceline way...a new rental facility just opened in April at McCarren (the airport) and is great....there are "secret" alternatives to driving the Strip if you need to go from one hotel/casino to another (Frank Sinatra Dr. for one)....and, yes, parking is always free and plentiful at the big casinos...if you're able to walk a good ways to check out the Strip sights, try parking at the Treasure Island self-parking garage as it's very central to all the Strip attractions.....

the atrium thing is called the Conservatory at the Bellagio and, yes, is very worth it....not enormous, but it is redone each season and contains very clever and cool things...spend some time looking around it....the Fountains Of Bellagio are my favorite attraction in LV....stand along the fence on the Strip in front of the Bellagio and, every 15 minutes, a song will play highly synched to an awesome fountain display....very inspiring and cool (literally in July)....some of the songs are less impressive than others, so wait thru three or four cycles to catch a good one, if the last one didn't do it for you.....

if you've never been to LV, go see the volcano thing at the Mirage and the Sirens of TI at the TI (Treasure Island), then don't worry about them anymore (like the Fremont Street Experience)....walk thru the Wynn, the Forum Shops at Caesars, and all the other huge hotels...impressive.....

all of the above are FREE....you can, of course, go to an expensive show, eat some pricey dinners, gorge at a buffet, hire a hooker.....

also, get out of town and check out Hoover Dam ($10 tour is a bargain), Red Rock, Valley Of Fire, Mt. Charleston (highpoint of southern NV) for some cool temps, and more.....

If you aren't much of a gambler and want you money to go further gamble downtown or off the strip. The casinos off the strip tend to have lower table limits and looser slots and better odds.

Mandalay Bay Beach is a nice place to spend the afternoon and the Shark Reef is nice. Take the monorail down to Excalibur and Ride the Rollercoaster at NY NY. Hard Rock Cafe on Sunday afternoon has all the pretty people, most of them straight, but some nice eye candy to be feasted up. I like amusement park rides and the ones at the top of the Statosphere were fun the last time I was there. The casino itself is horrible and due for a makeover but if the rides are running, take the adrenaline rush.

The gondola ride at the Venetian is not Venice. The streets of Paris are not Paris. Both places are pale imititations if you have seen the real thing, but if you haven't or you have and want a bit of a nostalgic push, try out those casinos.

Aaron Mark, perhaps Las Vegas' most perfect monument should be mounted at least once. The view is spectacular.
