How do you set a travel rate?

I am trying to strike a deal with one of my regular hires. I’ll cover all travel expenses for a week long cruise to Alaska, flights to get him there, excursions and his bar tab, and I expect to compensate him for his time with me.

We’re having a tough time agreeing to a fee we’re both comfortable with. Anyone have any experience with this from either end? Neither one of us seems willing to budge, and I’m hopeful that some additional perspective will help move the needle for me as I’ve never not been able to “strike a deal” before.

Any input from escorts and those who have paid for travel companions is welcome.

I have done a few cruises with escorts. My advice... don't! That being said, unfortunately I think you are past the point of making it work as you say that you both are having trouble agreeing on a fee and both seem unwilling to budge.

The times I did do it, here is how I handled it. First I asked the escort for a quote. If that quote was not even close to what I was willing to pay, I simply moved on. If higher, but somewhere in the same ball park, I would tell the escort what I could go, and let them decide if they wanted to accept or reject my offer. Then I moved on. This method resulted in 3 cruises (accepted their offer or they accepted my counter) and 1 fail (a few thousand apart and I just said no thanks without any further pursuit).

Escorts hate hearing this phrase lol.

At minimum you should anticipate paying double his weekend rate. There should be a little wiggle room for negotiation as you’re paying travel expenses, etc but I wouldn’t expect a 50% off deal. You are still paying for his time. Cruise or not, it’s only a holiday for you; he’s still working. You have to consider how much money he could potentially make in a week if he doesn’t join you on the cruise. Don’t negotiate to the point he’s getting the short end of the stick.

How much is he asking? How much does he usually get for an hour/overnight with you?

Does he usually get any perks from you?

When will you be there? Where does he live? I am asking to know if it’s low or high season during your trip to AK.

Without a doubt, remembering this quote saved me from making a colossal fool of myself. And all escorts I've hired for similar excursions have negotiated extremely fairly with me because of that. This allowed me to know that I was approaching things from a "good place." If it worked out, fantastic. If not, it just wasn't meant to be and I moved on.

That’s exactly everything I’m considering from his perspective as I am trying to figure out what to pay. I get that’s hes working constantly. I am fairly certain what I’m willing to pay is more than what he’ll make in a week considering conversations we’ve had in the past. I’m not looking for a massive 50% discount. When we first met, we he had a very reasonable conversation about his rate and my expectations and we worked out agreements that we were both happy with.

He asked $7,000.00. Usually he gets $300 an hour from me for a minimum of 2 hour sessions, and $1,000 when we do overnights.

When we went to Vegas, I paid for his own room and I asked for him between 9pm and 1am to host there for us. He had the room to see clients any other time around that and he did. I guess that’s a perk. For Alaska, I’ve told him I’ll pay for up to 4 excursions, two I’d like him to do with me and the other 2 he can do with me, or do himself, whatever he chooses. It’s a gay cruise so I imagine he’ll be able to see other clients if he chooses as I’m not expecting exclusivity of his time or attention on the boat, and he knows that from our past arrangements.

Another perk is that, per his request, we film content for his only fans page. We often play with other escorts, or hot Grindr guys, and he asks me to create content for his pages. I’m not super into that because I enjoy being present and feel video taping takes me out of the moment, albeit briefly.

It’s next week and I just decided to go yesterday. He’s based in San Francisco and has been traveling for the past 3 months. I’m not sure if that’s high season for San Francisco or not.

I was anticipating paying up to 3k for his time for the week on top of the trip but I haven’t expressed that to him yet.

When he asked for 7, I said we aren’t in the same ball park so I have a feeling we aren’t going to be able to make this work this time around. He countered with 4, and his flight from the east coast to San Francisco, which is reasonable, but still more than I want to pay given the cost of the trip.

Hypothetical has made some good points though so I’ve begun to think I may want to pay more for the good company.

Here’s what your offering:

Flight stipend (I would offer a stipend sfo-seattle round trip assuming this is the rsvp Alaska cruise to/from Seattle)

Cruise fee

Excursions

Bar tab

Opportunity to work: there are a lot from my experiences on cruises. It’s also a great networking opportunity for the escort to meet other clients who want to book him

for cruises.

JFF/OF filming content: a total cash cow if you are doing 3ways and/or have a videographer as the 3rd person.

I would set a price based on the total you spend on this individual per year. I would also would adjust based on how much you’re spending on the trip. For example, I would drop by price by 20 or 30 percent for a brand g cruise versus a carnival cruise bc I know I’m getting a higher-end experience with the former.

Here are some data points for what other escorts have told me they charged per week or what clients told me they paid: 2k, 4k, 6k, 8k.

I’m not sure how I would price things given that I know he charges 300/hour 600/2hours and 1000/overnights since that’s not the rate progression I would expect as we increase in time. He should be increasing his rates at a decreasing rate as the number of hours increases but a normal curve would slope more gradually down than one based on those rates.

I would just offer something simple: 4k plus flights plus bar tab plus 4 excursions, 4 hours with other clients, 4 hours of filming with other people.

When I’m with a client who doesn’t want to talk money, the conversation would just go like this:

Client: 3 (it’s a reasonable offer: I personally wouldn’t be insulted by it even though I would decline it)

Me: 7

Client: meet in the middle at 5, everything else negotiated once on board the ship.

I remember the experiences from weeks or weekends I have spent with clients, not how much money I made. If you both want to spend time with each other, you’ll both make it work. If not, you’ll each find someone else to spend time with.

Lastly, you absolutely need to set expectations on two things: sleeping around and drugs. These are the two things clients consistently complain about to me with other escorts on trips.

You're his sugar daddy and a very giving person, you should be treated in a better way.

It's low season now in SF, most tourist are families with kids buying sweaters surprised about how cold it is.

Considering you're talking about 7 days and he'll see other clients too... I would settle at 4 (as he told you later) but not 7. Your choice! Keep on posting and if you want to share this hottie with us review him.

Now a days with guys on here bragging about how little they pay you're a gem in the rough, I don't know how handsome he is (obviously for you it's more than his looks) but he doesn't appreciate you as he should.

That’s how I was feeling but the reminder that it’s a vacation for me and work for him made me meet him at 4K, and we’ll share a room instead of him having his own. We just booked and I’m happy now.

That’s why I like him. We’ve worked all this out already through prior trips.

Thanks for your great advice.

It’s work but you’re by far a very easygoing guy! He won’t be with you 24/7 either, he’ll also have free sex with young hot men in the cruise as @Mikegaite posted there’s a time to party in time to be with a client who made the trip possible.

Btw some clients here make a scandal if the escort doesn’t cum during the meeting... You’re a gentleman, don’t change but don’t let people take advantage of you.

  • 3 weeks later...

Both times I've traveled, I lucked out because both clients pitched an offer I thought was fair and it spared any need for negotiation. I'm so glad it worked out for the both of you and that you both agreed on a number you thought was fair. I hope you have a blast!
