Gotta give it to Julio Iglesias for stepping up and embracing his gay fans and one gay fan in particular. In a role usually relegated to a younger woman, Julio sings "Hero" to a male fan and he doesn't hold back.

Enrique Iglesias sings love song to gay fan

It's Enrique there, not his 62 year-old father Julio. I've always kind of liked Enrique--I bought his first self-titled album in 1999. I never understood why it took him so long to have that mole removed; a simpler operation doesn't exist. He has a lot more courage than a lot of closeted gay personalities out there (are you reading this, Anderson Cooper?). Three cheers to him!

Of course, now that he got rid of that silly mole, perhaps, after all his time living in the U.S., he can get rid of that silly Castillian accent? I remember a (Latino) college friend told me that in high school he had a friend from Spain. It only took the Spanish native one episode of being gang-bashed by the Latinos at the high school for him to drop that Castillian accent PDQ (no my friend wasn't involved in beating up his friend, of course!).

You are correct. When I think Iglesias, I think Julio though I knew it was Enrique.

That was very sweet of Enrique. It might sound corny but it was sort of romantic what he did and I got teary eyed watching the video. Hats off to Enrique for doing what he did even if he isn't gay.

Hugs,

Greg

WOW...that was so sweet...it also brought a tear to my eye...i remember being secretly in "LUV" with the beautiful straight teen idols, ...the lonliness ...how i would have loved to have been one of their screaming female fans...perhaps being chosen for that quintessential concert moment when the idol serenades the fan...knowing it would never happen....david cassidy, i still luv you

How curious, on the same day the video is discussed on this board, the video has been removed and is no longer available. So much for the sweet comments made about the singer. One cannot help but wonder why the video was removed so quickly.

Man that is damned disappointing. I have no idea why it was taken down, but I suspect the worst and hope for the best.

"hoping for the best pays off"--

For those that haven't seen the video clip, I was just now able to bring it up on the youtube.com website by searching for:

<enrique london>

Not sure why the link in the first post doesn't work anymore, but the video is still available on the website.

Quick question for you guys about youtube.com--is there a way to download the video clips to your PC, or can you only "link" to them for viewing? I'm just not as current with today's technology as I should be...
