This is such an inspiring story. She may be living life as a woman now, but this really took balls. Mike Penner becomes Christine Daniels, most people are supportive and she continues her career in that macho field. Many of the local sports radio broadcasters here in L.A. are being very supportive of his decision as is Jim Rome nationally and also his editor.

In addition, some of his colleagues have also voiced support. He has been a respected sports writer in this town for a long time.

 

His decision to be public about his struggle and ultimate choice has offered many people another opportunity to revisit their bias in something like this and perhaps change their minds.

 

I applaud his courage.

Identity issues are always hard; whether talking about Gay, STR8, or Bi - but even harder when gender identity is involved. My thoughts and prayers go to Mike/Christine and the family and friends "they" left behind.
