Guy when I was a kid I spent many summers visiting my relatives in Utah. My family was not LDS but, in those days, you couldn't spend much time in a small town in Utah without being, in almost, constant contact with lots of Mormon males. Mecum is, in many ways, very typical of his upbringing in a small town in Utah. He plays the piano (typical) and speaks softly (typical). Morman males aren't usually into the mucho macho thing thus they may appear effeminate to some.
