Anyone else a fan of this guy, for the sole fact that he is the fly in the ointment, the broken glass in the oatmeal, the razor in the apple? I hate the show, and Simon should be happy he has such a train wreck to at least get MY attention. When Vagina, I mean, Sanjina goes, I go!

BTW, if you just want the Sanjyahuya "lowlights", go to dlisted.com and see the clip - I don't know what I'd do without them (probably would have to watch the show {shudder})

Oh, man, you gotta see this (animated gif):

The woman in the middle with the 2 bouncing basketballs is Sanjaya's sister.

I'm in love with the whole family now.

Quite the little joke to vote for someone who obviously is not qualified to fulfill the role. Guess that was the philosophy that got Bush elected and look how that joke played out. The people on that show are attempting a job interview albeit a public one. Every week he stays someone else gets less credit than they have earned and he gets more.

I don't much care who wins, the fact that he stays on the show more likely due to bitterness from the American public and those such as Howard Stern who would promote it, than from ability, is disturbing.

I think the only "bitter" people are the one's complaining this karaoke amateur hour of a show should be taken SO SO VELY VELY seriously. I'm lovin' it - well, until he's voted off, and then it becomes the "Battle of the Blands" again.

I am at a loss at what you might be enjoying. The public humiliation of a 17 year old? His inability to recall the words to his song? The voice that gets barely audible. I think the bitterness of organizations like "Vote for the Worst" and Howard Stern's call to his minion listeners is pretty clear to most.

Now if you would like to condemn this show on the merits of its other contestants or the way it handles the early auditions, now that might not smack of vitriol.

I always wondered what kind of people slow traffic by craning to see an accident on the other side of the highway. My guess is you are one of them. The same kind that enjoy the apple in the razor, the fly in the ointment and the lowlights of Sanjaya, as you carefully point out in you post. You revel in his ineptitude. If not bitter it is at last sad for you.

I recall the one week when Sanjaya himself was expecting to leave, and was surprised. He's having fun, and making the best of a situation. He will now being going on tour with the top 10 idols this summer.

He seems to have gained more confidence the past couple of weeks, but still is not singing as well as he can.

I think if he selects the right song to show his real singing ability, some people will be surprised.

To me he is attractive, a bit thin, but still attractive. He has a great smile, and a bit of a twinkle in his eye now that he's made the top ten. So I'm just hoping he gains more confidence, and would actually like to see him around longer.

I'm think that we can't get his appeal because we aren't girls below the age of 16 :+ LOL

I watched Idol yesterday for the first time this season. After all of that publicity with that little girl crying I just had to see it. LOL Sanjaya wasn't thaaat bad. My friends (who hate him) told me that it was one of his better performances though. I kind of liked the hairstyle, believe it or not. It showed more of his face. The pictures that I saw of him with long girly hair grossed me out some. He actually has kind of a cute face when you can actually look at it. What I don't like is the fact that people with better singing talent get kicked off the show. Its too bad that they can't have multiple winners representing different categories.

Forget being an American Idol. If I had the choice I would rather be one of the show's producers. You have a show that millions of people tune into to watch unpaid entertainers make millions of dollars. The only people you really have to pay are the judges and the host. I'd be smiling all the way to the bank.

I would really be surprised if Melinda gets kicked off or doesn't win.

Well, we have another week of Sanjaya.

Yep, and how "bitter" it was to see the host of the show "publicly humiliate" him from the start

;)

He's got the strangest name, yet the highest name recognition, and I'd wager the highest number of votes today - really, I'm sure it's tearing him up inside. After seeing clips online of him where he looked in earlier shows to be on the verge of tears, I'm glad he's embracing his absolute lack of talent and running with it. The others could do the same (there's no Streisand Jr in the bunch), and maybe people would remember their names. :p

If I remember correctly the hair stylist suggested that he try that hair style. I think it was all in fun, and brought Sanjaya even more attention.

I was happy to see him move on, and its interesting that he wasn't in the bottom three. So it almost appears as though his fan base is actually building. Maybe he will be the dark horse of the contest, and if that's so even better. Someone will pick up on him either way.

I read that Simon receives about 35 million per year for his participation.

Regardless of whether the show is good or bad, I'll watch it as long as Ryan Seacrest is the MC - that guy is 110% my type. I would really like to know what his sexuality is. There is never anything in the media about a girlfriend........

Are we watching the same show? How about Ms Dolittle?

True... but on the plus side we got rid of that butt ugly frizzy haired guy with the excess pounds and attitude. He sure was no eye candy. Although I must admit he did have a pretty good voice.

I agree. I feel she has been the best this year, right from the start, when she was first selected.

If she doesn't win, then its not a show about finding the best singers IMHO.

I would agree that Ms. Dolittle has the best voice but she could fall victim to Blake's white boy looks and reasonable voice or to LaKisha who also has a powerful voice. If any other person wins, it would add to the fiasco that Sanjaya's results have created and might undermine the show as it did the British version

Your choice of words to describe that guy is beyond simple description of his ability or inability to sing but is tantamount to racist bigotry. You guys ought to be censured and censored! What a shame.

Well we KNOW it isn't about finding the best singers - if it was, we wouldn't have had to listen to and look at Taylor Hicks. Gag..

I never knew about the undermining of the British version. What happened?

On the outside Simon criticizes. But on the inside I bet he thinks "Keep making me money bitches. I can #### you out to America every week!!! MAHAHAHAHA!!!" :+

I'll be honest I have not see any of this seasons shows and very few past seasons show so I had to youtube this kid and um HE SUCKS! He has very little stage presence other then that horrid hair and his voice is very week, it doesn't have that soul that umph. Send him back to what ever state he came from or just make him a back up singer.
