None of the guys contesting on American Idol really caught my fancy, but I did think I recognized one of them from the movie Lord of the Flies. Take a look, don't you think there is a strong resemblance?:

Another finalist is channeling Michael Jackson, and is just about as butch. What's up here? Are they afraid to pick an attractive guy for fear Ryan will get them sued?

Who wants to bet that a girl wins this year's contest?

Not quite sure where you're going with this comment unless you mean that Ryan might paw the guy on air???

I still wonder about Ryan, but to the best of my knowledge, there has not been much buzz about his preferances.

You're probably right.

There was one hottie that looked quite butch - think he had a buzz cut (I could be wrong here) didn't catch his name.

I'm surprised that the judges picked 2 slobs. One that looks like the Lord of the Flies guy and the last one picked who was just plain butt ugly.

I though Simon looked hot tonight - he is cute when he smiles.

I'm sure I am not alone on thinking "NO Hunks-No Interest"...

It can't be good for Ratings. "Week after Week" of Butt Uglies Singing?

I doubt this will fly with alot of People. Especially "The Market" Teenage Girls, Like ME! LOL :p :P :p

Well some of the "real" idols from when I was a kid, weren't much when it came to singing. David Casidy for example wasn't what I would call a great singer...but he looked good.

There were a few guys that I thought would have made it through, but were pushed out the door. I definately agree that for some reason a few guys who have the potential for having the "total package" good looks and talent, were let go.

Taylor Hicks....Ruben Studdard.....both horribly ugly in my book, both Idol winners. Apparently america likes personality.

True enough...personality does make a difference...the big thing is, do any of the remaining guys have a magnetic personality? I know some of the girls appear to have very strong personalities.

Geez do you guys subscribe to TigerBeat? Take the posters and hang them on your bedroom door? I like American Idol and don't mind a good looking man or three on the tube, but when I have Idol on, I am usually just listening to the show and doing something else. It is supposed to be a singing competition. I am not foolish enough to believe that is all it is, but of the winners only Carrie Underwood would have been considered very good looking while the other winners Studdard, Fantasia, Clarkson and Hicks are a pedestrian looking group and I can't imagine enjoying the sight of anyone of them in a swim suit.

I do not subscribe to Tiger Beat, nor do I drink purple milk. Why get a teen mag when you can come here and get all the pix you need for free. But I am glad that you are so special, Mr. Kow. You probably only read Playboy for the articles too! Is Rock Hard mentoring you?

American Idol is foremost a singing competition. The contestants placed in the final round by the judges, producers and whomever else made the decisions, need to have excellent singing voices. After that, the American public takes over and while the best voice doesn't always win, the voice should be of greater concern than the look. Even with videos, music is not a predominantly visual medium.

I applaud the casting people for this group, which seems to focus on voice and much less on look.

Few of the guy are Tigerbeat material, but hopefully all of them have the kind of voice that will entertain.

As for Playboy, I peruse it rarely, but when I do, I actually do read the articles and the jokes. My guess is that you aren't scanning the pictures of that particular magazine either.

More to the point, linking me with Rock Hard, I feel the need to misquote the movie Monte Python and the Holy Grail and say:

"I unclog my nose in your general direction."
