How do you get a "burner phone"? I have a "private" phone but I needed a SIM card and bought that from T Mobile and it needs to be refilled occasionally. that required me to be identified. Where does one buy a burner phone that does not require id ? Thanks.

You can get them all over the place -Walmart, 7-11, Walgreens-Trac Phones are one brand. You buy a card to get the minutes.

I got a SIM card from AT&T that did require personal information for activation. I got a second hand phone from a seller who I paid with cash. I get refill cards from stores which I also pay for in cash. No paper or money trail leading to me.

I would not use a “burner” SIM on a phone registered to my name because the phone’s IMEI (ID number) is in the documentation.

Just be aware that text messages themselves are not proof that anything went on and without a direct witness, no criminal charges are going to be levied,

I'm not sure if you've been following the news but the best way to put yourself in hot water is lying to a police/FBI agent.

Do you know X?

Have you ever texted X?

For some that's a perjury trap.

Now if you are a high profile individual, a celebrity or a politician, then just having texts on his phone could get you convicted in the court of public opinion, as these things have a way of slipping out. But if you are just a regular Joe Blow, I would not give it a second thought. I would look for another regular though.

In this country everybody is a somebody.

Again... without basic information this sounds like the Hawaii and Pittsburgh panic I mentioned in earlier posts.

One Caveat; to activate the phone initially by activating whatever card you bought (15$ for two hrs etc) you WILL have to do so from another line or on-line etc, which CAN be tracked. Same if the phone is dead ie out of time. (I know a guy who plays dumb and has the salesman right at BestBuy do it from their phone for him) Also a heads up, thou using the phone usually counts in real time as far as minutes, TEXTS are calculated in a diff way at a much higher rate, ONE throughout the day text conversation to set up an appmnt can oft eat up a whole 2hr card.

You don't even need a burner cell. Just get Google Voice - it's free and you can text/call. There are other apps as well that will port a free disposable number to your phone leaving little to no digital trail.

Just be happy you're not one of the fools who pays with a credit card. Unless you are. Then you may be fucked.

i agree that if you are a public figure of some sorts, the police may "leak" your information out to the media for extra oomph. a regular "joe" would be alot of time and resources to go back to the crime so to speak and prosecute for a small deal. police are more interested if they do get involved to do a sting of some sorts with the actual police involved in the set up.

discretion is always advised yet think again how many people this escort has seen over the years. does anyone really think they will try to get a hold of or prosecute hundreds of people for past, possible alleged acts? thats a stretch for sure

robert kraft, owner of the new england patriots was just arrested for being involved with a florida prostitution sting. headlines state more than 100 men were implicated in the operation. only his name was exposed. big time name that will lead to alot of traction on the case.

Why does someone like Kraft hire prostitutes? We have it on the highest authority that if you are a well-known, wealthy older man, when you see an attractive young woman, you just grab her by the pussy, and she loves it. Then she is happy to have sex with you until you tire of her, and you let your lawyer deal with her. No problem with criminal charges.

The first thing I would do is look for the charges filed against him because it seems very unlikely that is the only reason he was arrested. Jail bookings and arrest records are public information (and frequently published broadly) and list the charges. Assuming he really was arrested (and it’s not just made up by the BF) it seems likely that some other accusation would be primary.

If “prostitution” is the only charge, with nothing else, then I still wouldn’t worry. What evidence could possibly exist that would implicate you that wouldn’t get laughed out of court. I’d assert that his texts were completely fabricated, even if he did incriminate himself for some reason.

If he says the texts are real and contain your full legal name, address and date of birth then I’d threaten to file a defamation suit.

Short answer = don’t worry.

100% agree. If it really scares you simply go to the courthouse and by his name get a copy of the charges and indictment. Probably free and takes a few minutes. It will detail what happened and what charges.

Places that do "stings" for prostitution lure the provider or the client themselves and evidence is given by the undercover cop. When records are gone through it's never to prosecute clients but a large-scale prostitution ring like the DC Madam. A lot of famous people showed up on her lists but none were prosecuted. That would be old 3rd-hand evidence.

You will never convince me “free Google” anything is a Black Hole. Those bastards track and monetize all things Google. You’re a source of daily revenue to them why would they stop at Google Voice?

As further commentary here is a recent article, ( https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/22/sports/robert-kraft-jupiter-orchids-arrest.html) and it was a sting for Human Trafficking of dozens of young girls primarily from another country and it was videotaped.

Supposing you don't provide them with any accurate information about yourself, what does it really matter? Also- if you think your info is not being tracked, sold, and monetized via any other service (online or offline) you're in for quite a shock. Are you a member of a grocery store club? Do you have health insurance? Are you on any mailing lists? Ever joined a gym? Do you have any credit cards? A cell phone? Then congratulations- your information is already being bought and sold.

I’ll weigh in here on something. Few years ago, without putting too much of his business out there...A big named escort from Boston had a brush with the law completely non escort related; body building related. As a result of their grab- they had his phones, computers all that- but they didn’t give TWO shits about chasing this down. They had it on a silver platter- saw the big picture....but they didn’t care! Bigger fish to fry!

Police Didn’t act on setting up a single client, nor flipping any additional crap on him, even misdemeanors just to pile it on. They were there for the juice, and they left it at that.

And to his credit, he could have set up people above him, below him, and clients to probably spring himself or reduce charges but instead he kept quiet and did the right thing. Took a pretty raw/harsh deal to, but he’ll get spoken of positively till the day he dies for his honesty / loyalty at least!

But again, circling back- I wouldn’t panic. Completely unrelated to you- what state, someone asked too- unless it TN or AL or some bored Bible Belt state...fairly sure it won’t matter.

I could be wrong but i believe i saw in at least one article's reporting they called it two misdemeanor counts. But I would assume and adding to other's points that if they charge a multitude of the people who were involved and caught up in that sting that they become cooperating witnesses as a part of a larger case relating to a potentially large and established human trafficking racket.

When you create the Google account you're going to use for Google Voice, Google can track the device you've used to create it. That device can be used to associate you with legitimate communication you've done other other identities -- in theory. If I have three Google accounts and I access them all from my laptop or tablet at home Google will have the data to connect all three of those accounts. Once I activate the Google Voice app on my phone Google can can connect that account with other activity from that device, much of which could easily connect to my identity.

It's not plausible that a local escort sting would reach out to Google for those connections. I'm not sure how many of these connections are visible to a phone service provider or ISP, and how much they choose to accumulate. The data is all available somewhere, but no one would go to the effort to connect the dots unless you were the subject of a serious investigation.
