Rating System?

So a conversation on on the other thread got me thinking about using Rent.men (or others) star-rating system a little more thoughtfully. I am relatively new to this thing so for the most part I only give five-star reviews and only to the men I really had a good time with. Otherwise I just don't leave a review at all. However, I kinda wish that I had given a more accurate rating for one particular gentleman because it sounds like lots of other clients kinda had a so-so time with him as well and had I seen a lower star rating, I might have given meeting with him a bit more thought (this was before I knew about this forum).

So kinda curious about those who do star ratings on Rent.Men. Do you only review those that you really like? Do you try to give a real rating based on how you felt it went? Obviously this whole thing is very subjective so what would you base that rating on? Obviously can't get into specifics about specific men, but more curious about your general basis for a star-rating if you have one at all.

or you could just entirely skip even putting reviews on rentmen......(to be honest)

their review system has nearly been thoroughly discredited.....providers (escorts) are often allowed to have poor reviews deleted (yup, you read that right!)....and rentmen (RM) management requires communication with the provider to be via the RM messaging system in order for a review to be posted (unless, of course, it's a positive review ).....also, some positive client reviews are faked in various ways and RM management is hesitant to delete them and upset their paying advertisers (the providers)........further, full text reviews are not currently visible to US users unless a somewhat-clunky work-around is used.....the terse yes/no reviews that are visible are not terribly helpful......

yeah, I've left a couple or three reviews on RM for good guys I met who needed them......they either didn't want a full review on daddysreviews.....or had never heard of it......you can do that, I guess....and, admittedly, many RM reviews are sincere and written by valid clients

instead, though it takes some time to fill out, I'd make an effort to submit reviews at well-regarded daddysreviews......and I'd make very brief endorsements or cautions here in The Deli (full reviews not allowed).........

Thanks AZDR..I've started to do my own DaddyReviews as well, but not sure if a lot of beginners really know about this. I didn't until I was told by an escort about it to write one on here. But yeah, it sounds like Rent.Men has some problems if they are not truly showing what people rate. But even just the star system could be useful. I know I would be a bit cautious about anyone who wasn't 4.5 stars or above.

While I think that your intention of being more thoughtful about the number of stars is worthwhile, in reality, as it stands now, anything less than a 5-star review on rentmen is blemish on a guy's reputation. You might be tempted to give a 4-star review for a guy that is "pretty good but not perfection," but this would not be doing him any favors, and would probably bring down his overall rating. It would be great if the star rating system were more meaningful, but, unfortunately, it isn't, and unless everyone changes how they use it (which won't happen), we're stuck with it.

Your current practice -- giving 5-star ratings, or no review at all -- is probably the best use of a flawed system.

Yeah that is definitely something I have thought about. But I actually have gone with a few men that have less than 5 stars. And with the messaging system on there, maybe it could be a bit more educational for the dude. Like, "Why did you give me 4-stars?" "Well because you rescheduled three times, you said on your profile that you do X, but then didn't want to do it when we were together and/or you rushed me out the door with more than 20 minutes of the hour remaining." Maybe he can learn a bit more about this from the client's perspective to make sure he is giving a better experience.

My worry is that a lot of men don't know about Daddyreviews and a lot of the guys on Rent.Men have very good star rating systems and yet when they are discussed on the forums everyone is like, "Yeah, I had a pretty mediocre time with him too." Then why is he at almost a perfect 5-star rating? The one I am thinking of in particular doesn't even have Daddyreview either.

I drive Uber on the side and totally get the terrible power of a star-rating system but in a lot of ways I wish we could have something very similar. Clients can rate their escorts and escorts can rate their clients. In Uber 99% of the people (myself included) also give 5-star reviews both ways, but you better believe that I give less than that for a passenger who was extremely rude or dirty. It would be nice if we had something similar so that both client and escort could avoid a disappointing experience.

@keroscenefire you're right that few clients even know about the daddysreviews site.....and that isn't good......a few more know about this forum, but many are not members, don't post, and rarely look in........but many more clients only know about rentmen and, sadly, probably only rely on the reviews there for making a decision.......

your concern is very nice, but like the classic yelp/google/tripadvisor et al reviews, it's just difficult to come to general agreement using only a ratings system......client preferences, style, priorities differ........

I've mentioned before that the best way to have a successful meeting with a provider is 1) look at daddysreviews 2) inquire here at the forum and 3) communicate thoroughly and discreetly with the provider, including a phone chat, to make sure you'll be compatible......

I'm guilty of doing that. I leave 5-stars on RM regardless of whether I had a so-so experience or an amazing one. I know that makes my review useless, but I would feel bad if I left fewer than 5 stars.

If it was not a good experience, then I don't leave a star rating at all.

Yeah..I did this too but now that I've been on here, I also start feeling bad for the other gentlemen who are having so-so experiences with the men they hire because of their all five-star reviews.
