On the topic of SoCal Marines:

 

You do realize that Oceanside is mostly Marines and has 3 gay bars. Bi (and Buy) Marines wander in and around them often.

Oceanside has three bars? I live the next city over and didn't know that. There were Graystokes and Ed's Capri Lounge, both of which closed. Are there new ones?

a quick reply on DC- Dupont didn't get gay bars until much later than Georgetown and Capitol Hill although Annie's Steak House has been here forever. I was often at the Plus One, the first major gay dance bar in DC in the early '70's, where Jerry Smith, the Redskins' tightest end, also hung out. In high school I would sneak into Mr. Henry's Georgetown daily (drinking age was 18 and it was a cafe) in the late '60's. Louis leather bar was on 8th at Penn and Naples was a gay hustler bar/hotel next to the Trailways bus station where many Marines waiting for the Camp LeJeune bus would come for extra cash/and or booze. The transit terminal (bus station) is full of younger low-level Marines without cars. While there are occasional pick-up targets in San Diego for Marines (and Navy) they rarely show up on Washington in bars or the gay strip club. Maybe I've just had bad timing there. Ditto Black's Beach and southern San Clemente. But Oceanside has always been fruitful, even with a lover in tow. One of the best looking guys I've ever seen was a Marine we picked up at the WalMart for a 3 some. A gay man looking for trade is like a kid in a candy store in Oceanside. I haven't been there in over a year I live in DC. It seems like whenever I go there's different ones open or closed. But usually there's at least one open. If there's no official gay bar open now there's always the WalMart....my favorite anyway.

OK guys, I'm a novice here so please be patient with me. I live in SoCal and have hooked up with at least 4 marines from Pendleton when Craigslist was up and running. And like a previous member stated, I found them in the M4W section! However, since Craigslist has dropped it's personals section, I haven't had as many opportunities. Has anybody found an alternative to Craigslist?

doublelist might work but not to meet marines just maybe other regular gay guys. Most marines on craigslist honestly were looking for girls and got frustrated that eventually girls basically abandoned cl. athere are virtualky no girls using doublelist so once again you cant bait guys just wanting a bj but u will find a nice paunchy stomach daddy looking to suck u off.

if you are using doublelist, don't offer money -- most will come for a bj-- don't expect anything in return. However, you might get lucky as I have and find a marine (at least on the previous craigslist) that wanted to bottom after he arrived or has topped. If you do offer money after they turn down a freebie, call it 40 bucks for gas. Usually that's enough and the straight marine doesn't feel like he's escorting.
