Scary, esp. since i saw this kid a couple times two years ago....seemed like a likeable kid ( tho somewhat serious) and very handsome and eager to please...and then you read about what he really thinks of gays.

You say he was "eager to please". If he hated gays, as the Denver Post article points out, what exactly did he do to "please"? I am assuming that you met him as an escort.

 

Although it was not mentioned in the D.P. article, another report I read said he had been a porn star and worked under the name Marcus Allen. Is that the name you knew him by.

 

He sounds like he was really screwed up. You're lucky to be alive, I guess.

Yes, Zipper, I did see him as an escort ( one of my few happy esperiences thru Boys-Next-Door) and I only knew him as Marcus Allen.

 

I saw him twice as an escort and he seemed to be very into what he was doing....didn't kiss or bottom, but everything else was on the plate, and didn't seem at all reluctant to be in bed with another man. Also very pleasant to talk to afterwards, and was very forthcoming abt his porn career. Even offered a free DVD to me.

 

One surprising aspect of my visits was that a couple of times he suggested we meet socially....... not something that has happened with an escort very often in my experience. I invited him out to eat a couple of times , but it never panned out. After that I just lost interest in seeing him.

 

He also mentioned that he traveled often with a couple of different Denver men out of state.

 

Based on these two factors, Im tempted to suggest a possible motive in this slaying that perhaps "Marcus" was hoping that this guy would become his sugar daddy, and when the job didn't pan out, he became violently angry. ( I did get the impression that he was chronically short of money, and had a young daughter to support.....)

 

Needless to say, this indident has kinda freaked me out, as i never would have suspected Marcus of this kind of anger. You just never know......

It reminds me of that old tune "smiling faces...don't always mean what they say". There are many guys in the male entertainment business who are only in it for the money, but a small number of them (hopefully) have a strong homophobic aversion to men. These are the ones you have to watch out for. I have tried to develop a sixth sense for them and when I encounter them I run as fast as possible away.

 

I once had to cancel an appointment with an out of town escort due to business reasons (I gave him 2 days notice) and we actually hadn't even set up a time yet. Well, we exchanged several e-mails which became increasingly testy and then he sent me the zinger, so full of hate and loathing, it left me speechless. And this from a well reviewed escort on the old Hooboy site. Thankfully he is no longer listed on the new site and appears to have gone out of the biz.

Sounds very similar in motivation to the "In Cold Blood" massacre.

It does indeed sound like the Clutter murders that Truman Capote made famous in his non-fiction novel, In Cold Blood. In that case the murderers had heard that there was a safe in the prosperous farmer's house but sadly were disappointed and took out their rage on the hapless family who had been sleeping in their beds.

 

In this case, it sounds like the victim was physically close to his alleged murderer and may have been indiscreet in alluding to the money in his safe. I have personally witnessed rich men being indiscreet about their money to hired boys and I consider it a big no-no. To flaunt big bucks in the face of guys who sometimes are one step from the welfare office is just a silly thing to do and inviting trouble.

 

The other question has to be why did this guy have $400,000 in cash in his bedroom safe. Sounds like hot money to me, taxes not declared etc. Why would someone keep that amount lying around not even collecting interest?

I find it strange that the porn star was able to just pick up the safe and walk out with it. Even the smallest safes weigh a great deal and would not be easy to transport. Maybe it was just a cash box and not a real safe, as such.
