Spring here officially starts on 1 September.

 

Here in the USA Summer unofficially is said to end with our three day Labor Day weekend. Labor Day is the first Monday of September.

Brumaire = frog month. Wasn't 18 Brumaire Bastille day on the revolutionary calendar? I thought I read that in "Murky Business" the Balzac novel. Balzac, BTW, is a great writer in addition to being a pun unworthy of even Dick Cavett!

Anyone try balancing an egg upright? Today's the only day you're supposed to be able to do that.

Actually I think that's an old wives tale, but I did it once when I was a kid.
