Has Rentmasseur disabled its "Map Me" feature on masseur profiles? It doesn't seem to appear on any profile that I have looked at.

Please don't tell me that they are moving in the direction of Masseurfinder, or worse, MassageM4M!

Rentmasseur has been hit with just a touch of the SESTA/FOSTA curse. They are based outside the USA in Germany and can get around some of the SESTA/FOSTA rules, which is why you see shirtless photos, racy text, etc. When I contacted them, they told me that the one thing they could not get around was Google. Google contacted them and told them since they advertise erotic massage, they are not allowed to use Google maps, so they took down the "Map Me" feature to cooperate with Google. Rentmasseur is now looking into other alternatives.

I suppose this was dependent on the advertiser's wishes, but I noticed that some ads "map me" would show an approximate location that seemed accurate based on other information in their ads, while many would appear to me within one block of my own address. Since I knew that not all of those guys were literally within one block from me, I assume it was just using my own location.

The "Map Me" feature is back on RentMasseur. it looks like they are now using Tom Tom maps, instead of Google. The map images are better, IMO. However, satellite images are no longer available. Still, I like this feature.

Notice the same thing on RentMasseur this morning. Now is only the providers would enter something more helpful than just their city.

Agreed. many of the masseurs in Philly show their location as City Hall. This doesn't help me a great deal. I tend to go for those that are better about disclosing their location, at least for incalls.

I'm going to hazard a guess here that most masseurs, don't like the pin point accuracy of the Map Me feature for a variety of reasons.

The accessibility that the feature provides strangers the ability to see what street they are on down to within a few buildings might be disconcerting.

Probably something that RentMasseur should consider for their clients privacy concerns.

If I were a masseur or escort, I certainly wouldn't want my precise location available to everyone who looked at my ad. But I don't think that identifying a zip code, for example, is giving away too much. For potential clients, that's a lot more useful than simply showing a pin on a map that's roughly the center of a city.

I agree. I don't need to see their exact location. However, it is useful to get a general area that may be not far off from their location. It helps me decide if I am going to hire a particular masseur.

It is not.

You either have to allow the Geo location to pinpoint you or enter your address.

But you cannot disable

Wow.. I’m surprised because I work near Wall St and the location feature on MF is generally useless for finding the closest masseur to me because about 20% of the masseurs have a default location of City Hall.
