I have a pocket of fat under both of my armpits that connects from my chest wall, to my lats. Most of it is directly under my armpit. What weight lifting exercises are good for this area? Should I be focusing more on lat muscle exercises or chest exercises like bench press to get rid of it? I'm not fat overall, just have these pockets of fat there, that are hard to get rid of.

Thanks.

Thanks. I was just thinking if my lat muscles were wider it would make the fat bulge less apparent.

You most likely will be unable to increase the size of your lats enough to make any fat deposit less apparent. As mentioned above, I would concentrate on diet.

I wouldn't worry about not able to do a pull up. There are lots of weight lifting routines on YouTube. For me it was a matter of just beginning and continuing, and less to do with the amount of weight, such as a pull up. I focus on repetitions.

As my musculature increased, my underarms took on a more defined look.

Do plenty of stretching.

As others here have said, you cannot naturally spot treat fat loss. However, you have other medical options:

https://www.mykybella.com/

Many plastic surgeons will use this off-label to spot treat love handles and male 'side boob' fat.

There's also https://www.coolsculpting.com/

If it's a deep pocket of fat, I'd suggest traditional lipo to get rid of it for good, the first time.

I've also seen awesome things being done with the new AirSculpt machines https://www.elitebodysculpture.com/before-and-after/

Thanks guys. My problem has been solved already though. It turns out I didn’t have excess fat, but excess skin. I got it excised recently by a plastic surgeon. Long story short, I had gynecomastia since puberty, which was removed years ago, but the surgeon didn’t take out any skin, which left me with excess skin in the chest and axila.

There is an exercise that might be helpful, although I agree that spot reduction is probably impossible- dumbell pullovers. They're supposed to be good for developing the serratus muscles -those "fingers" that interlace so beautifully with the intercostal muscles.
