They've been my mobile carrier since 08/20/99. Back in those days they were Bell Atlantic Mobile.

As I've said I'm a dinosaur; I only have a landline telephone. This month thus far I have made only 10 telephone calls and have received 3.

They started out as a landline carried - the result of two merged "Baby Bells"(NYNEX and Bell Atlantic) merged with GTE in 2000. "Bell Atlantic" didn't exactly resonate in the rest of the country, so "Verizon" was born.
