Important to remember this is low season. Not as many tourists in general this time of year, and the situation in the Middle East has created havoc with the economy as well. People are being more conservative these days in their spending, so travel is a luxury many are putting on hold. Did you go to X-boys in Pattaya? That show can be pretty risqué. Otherwise, I agree the shows in Pattaya are really quite tame compared to Bangkok. Personally, I avoid 'Walking Street' as there is very little on offer there for me. lol.

There are a number of clubs in the same area as Freshboys. You also have Good Boys directly below Freshboys, Hotmale, and Dreamboys. Not far away is Moonlight. There are also bars in that same general area...Midnight Bar and Rainbow Dragon come to mind. Rainbow Dragon is a host bar only. It really depends on the type of guy you are interested in. Tawan (formerly The One) guys are more muscular...same for Moonlight. Show at Moonlight will not be as risqué as the other bars, though. Also, if you are into muscle you might like Jupiter on Soi 4. There is also a new club that opened...another 2 so to speak. Originally called 'Atlas' and located across from Freshboys & Hotmale, they closed within the last year, moved to same Soi as Patpong Night Market, and new name is Big Boy. Not sure they will survive...we shall see. Not many guys, and the show is fairly tame. Be aware that Big Boy, Moonlight, and Jupiter all charge admission to enter. Good Boys is somewhat seedy, and many of the guys are Vietnamese if that is of interest to you...same for Freshboys...many Vietnamese. The other clubs are a mix from Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar...Thai are actually in the minority of guys on stage. One of the better shows from a purely entertainment standpoint is Banana Bar on Soi 4. G's German/Thai cuisine on Soi 4 is a good restaurant. Also, on Surawong not far from Freshboys is Sarica and just past it is Happy Beer Garden. Silom Complex has many decent restaurants as well, and a new edition is Silom Edge full of restaurants. If you are looking for something a little more upscale, the new Central Park Mall on Silom @ Rama IV has some excellent restaurants. If you are looking for massage, Soi 6 is always a good place to start. Another area to consider is Saphan Kwai neighborhood. There is a BTS stop so it is fairly easy to get to, and probably 10 or 12 massage shops within walking distance of the station. FYI...when going to the clubs, the mamasan will often be quite pushy or aggressive in wanting you to select a guy to take off. I would encourage you to be polite but noncommittal. If you see someone you are interested in, make eye contact with them, gesture for them to join you, buy them a drink, make conversation and negotiate directly with the guy. Leave the mamasan out of the negotiations all together. The guy will tell you what the off fee for the bar is without inflating it or trying to get a cut...which the mamasan is notorious for doing. In regards to offs, they either have Short Term or Long Term. Short term fees usually run 2500-3000 Baht and Long term (overnight) can run up to 5000 Baht. Be sure to be specific in your negotiations. If you want them to stay for breakfast in the morning, be sure to say that.

Hmm...I believe the standard off fee at most of the gay clubs in Bangkok is 500 Baht, not 5,000 Baht. As a frequent and annual visitor to Bangkok...I am not aware of any club that has a 5,000 Baht off fee. Hate to say this, but if that is what you paid...you were fleeced. I also think the name of the club you are talking about is now Tawan instead of The One. It has gone through several reincarnations the last couple of years and was even shut down for a period of time by the authorities...hence the multiple name changes.

If you are looking for a group, you might try the senior center. I think in Palm Springs it is the Mizell Center, if I am not mistaken. When I moved from Bay Area to Denver a couple of years ago, I joined the local senior center as a way to meet people and stay active. We do bus trips, have groups that enjoy going out to eat for lunch or dinner together, and many different groups that play games. The center I attend offers canasta, bridge, pinnacle, mahjong, scrabble, puzzles...the list goes on and on. Just a thought...

Agree completely. Lived in SF Bay Area for over 30 years and am definitely spoiled. Retired a couple of years ago and moved to Denver because of family. Have yet to find anyone on a regular basis, and most of the time they are just passing through. In addition, Denver doesn't seem to get as many travelers as other big cities. Of course, it doesn't help that I have a strong preference for Asian men, which is definitely challenging to find in Denver.

Never noticed until you just mentioned it, so I went back and read all of his reviews. I believe there are 58 or 59? Lost count to be honest. You are right...I have never seen so many well-written reviews. Lost track of the number of times 'transformative' was used. I also noticed that only his first two reviews were for 60 minute sessions, a few more are 90 minutes, but it seems the majority of the reviews indicate a 120 minute session. I thought this was strange as well. I am probably the odd person out...but I actually read the text on ads in addition to viewing the photos. I always check the contact info of someone I am interested in to see if they have provided a twitter link in addition to their number.

I haven't experienced any problems. Just checked again to be sure and it is working fine for me.

I am like you in that I will check someone's ad to see if a travel schedule is posted with any plans to be in the Denver area. However, to prevent any issues, I usually log out before making multiple visits to their ad. Even I have my settings as @BuffaloKyle has suggested, as an extra layer of precaution I simply log out.
